it's nice to see progress and the rate of vaccination picking up but the number of people vaccinated is low. Also, not a competition! And if it was one, the mulling government can't compete with governments that are proactive, organized and make critical decisions.

Tipping shouldn't exist. Salaries should be increased instead to abolish tips. Good for workers and customers. There is no tipping in Japan for example.

Don't bother with such companies. Those companies requiring you "full Japanese fluency" will try to assimilate you to being like the rest of the Japanese employees. "We want diversification" and "why can't you act more like Japanese?" is their agenda.

Living and medical costs are not what defines a nice place to live. There are many other things to consider. In general, Japan is not a happy place to live. Long working hours, lack of flexibility, not friendly / acceptable to foreigners just to mention a few.
