Whilst this thread isn't unbiased, its claims - especially around biased witness selection - give me deep pause about an unfinished Assisted Dying Bill. I support the principle of it, but with safeguards informed by both disabled ppl and professionals. Is this it, right now? No.
It’s been said that the next UK political scandal is probably already happening in plain sight. And it is. It’s been happening all this week at the assisted suicide bill committee. A thread:

At PMQs I challenged the Prime Minister to drop his opposition to a new UK-EU customs union. With Donald Trump threatening trade wars, we should rebuild ties with our European neighbours and tear down the trade barriers and red tape hurting British businesses.

Because everyone seems to be forgetting that Greenland is a nation of its own, the Greenlanders themselves should be listened to. The majority of Greenlandic voters vote for parties that want to negotiate a path to independence from Denmark. They don't want to join the USA.
Premier of Greenland message today; “Let me repeat - Greenland belongs to the people of Greenland. Our future and fight for independence is our business. While others, including Danes and Americans, are entitled to their opinions, but we should not be caught up in the hysteria

Some fireworks may take place in the United States tomorrow. There is a real risk that the House of Representatives won't be able to elect a Speaker. Some suggest it could delay the formal election of Donald Trump on January 6th. I'm not so sure, but get the popcorn ready! 🍿
1) The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Electing a House Speaker The Constitution dictates that the 119th Congress begins at noonet on Friday. And the first order of business in the House is to elect the Constitutional officer for the legislative branch of government: Speaker of the

My family knows what domestic abuse looks like—but the law doesn’t. Why? There’s currently no specific offence of domestic abuse. This means some abusers slip through the net. I spoke to @guardian about my campaign to reform the law & protect survivors👇 https://t.co/N1XlHKOmCd

This isn't true of @stamma - because stammering people play such prominent roles in decision-making - but it is depressingly true of far too many big charities. It is sad how many are mere emotionally manipulative fundraising machines that reinforce 'helplessness' stereotypes.
Disabled people’s organisations tell government: Big disability charities are ‘actively harmful’ to our movement https://t.co/hFjEl9k31f

Having spoken about my bad stammering experiences, it was a delight to have good treatment at Wellingborough @Bewichedcoffee today. Stammering on an order can be fraught: reactions include boredom, anger, impatience, pity. This morning? Nothing but respect. It means a lot! 👍

That said, the replies to that video are even weirder. Twitter contains some odd folk! 🫣 But still. Whenever I see a journalist interview an Irish voter they all talk about how expensive things are, especially housing. What I don't see are Irish politicos talking about it?

There may be something about Irish election campaigns I don't get... But this polling day video is quite weird! I'm not sure how well British voters would respond to a former Prime Minister, in an expensive suit, showing off his special set of expensive election shoes... 😳🤷♂️

It is chilling that Māori MPs in New Zealand felt the need to stage an angry Haka in Parliament, directed at an anti-Māori hate bill. NZ only exists because the Māori signed a treaty with the British Crown. Britain should remind NZ how vital it is for the Crown to keep its word.
