I was in a similar situation. Being severely ill with a neglected chronic illness doesn't only mean no care for that illness. It also often means no access to other healthcare. And nobody feels responsible because they follow the protocol. The protocol that excludes people.
Last time I had a pap smear, results were abnormal and I was told by my doctor to make sure to continue getting screened. It’s three years later, I’m now fully bedbound and the medical system refuses to have pap smears done at home. So I can’t get screened
