I would love to see @ZohranKMamdani's platform for the mayoral race include bringing public health front and center by bringing back PCR testing centers for COVID and flu tests at the very least, this affects the most vulnerable New Yorkers who don't have access to testing.

NYC's free COVID testing has officially completely been eradicated, with the last free PCR testing center in the city (in Brooklyn) set to close in a few weeks, all while vaccine access is taken away from people—so no, we no longer have the tools to keep people safe.

EVERYTHING Imani says and also I want people to understand that it's not like you get a diagnosis for something and then they put you on disability benefits and give you resources, that's something you have to fight for and is actually rare to get, systems don't cater to you.

either way they're probably going to take away disability benefits from a lot of people, and disabled people are not safe from losing resources like medicaid, healthcare, or money that helps us live, we are literally the target of the state.

I am disabled. I am now on my second time around going through the process of trying to get disability benefits and I am very doubtful it will happen. MEDICAID CUTS WILL KILL MANY DISABLED PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THE BENEFITS AND RESOURCES WE NEED.

I keep seeing people say the medicaid cut "won't affect disabled people" but that's not true and you need to understand there's a difference between being disabled and on medicaid versus being disabled AND qualifying for disability benefits, which are very hard to get.
