Excellent piece by @LevittMichael regarding the recent @uoftmedicine apology.
As uncomfortable as it can be to confront a troubling past, it’s better late than never, and doing so can help build a better future. That’s my hope for the University of Toronto as it reflects on righting a historical wrong. #Opinion by @LevittMichael .

Notably this news just came out today. Well done Stanford
cnn.com
Stanford University apologized Wednesday for limiting Jewish student admissions during the 1950s and then denying such a practice existed in the years that followed.
Still, many schools, hospitals, & faculties in Canada and the US with similar histories of antisemitic practices have NEVER formally acknowledged or apologized for such despicable practices. 3/6 p147 &

Notably, the idea for the event came from a chapter in a book by @deborahlipstadt about antisemitism in the Dental School of @EmoryUniversity and their apology, spearheaded by Dr Perry Brickman. 2/6
nytimes.com
The evidence of bias against Jewish students in Emory University’s dental school has long been known, but until now the university had neither admitted the bias nor apologized for it.

There is public misunderstanding regarding management of COVID symptoms plus inappropriate use of healthcare resources including emerg depts. Use of emergency cellphone system for notification & links to resources seems a good option. @daphnagrossman @ASPphysician @NoahIvers.

Fantastic piece by @NoahIvers Our Canadian Healthcare architecture provides a foundation for system-level care. Unfortunately, we often fall short with many missed opportunities. The pandemic highlights this issue most acutely.

A great place for seniors! They’ve even amazingly managed to turn it up a few notches during the pandemic. Lots to learn from their approach. Kol haKavod. @betelcentre.
Fantastic staff at @betelcentre supporting @NYFHT docs vaccinating their >80 year old clients. Thanks to all the volunteers who assisted this afternoon to swiftly get 156 seniors their second doses in a culturally sensitive manner.

We need an achievable stretch goal for daily vaccinations. Let’s vaccinate like this is an emergency - which it is. #250k/dailyON.
