To our surprise, we found that the cash transfer cut homelessness by 99 days, increased spending on rent, food, transit, and durable goods, and the reduced reliance on social services generated societal savings of $8,277 (net savings of $777) per person/yr.

Eli Lilley's cap on insulin at $35/month is a big deal. @GavinNewsom deserves some credit with his groundbreaking CalRX, a public option for insulin. Simply the announcement that CA plans to compete with a low cost, high quality option shapes the market

1. One in five US workers is bound by a noncompete clause, which restricts them from freely switching jobs, lowering wages and undermining fair competition. Today @FTC proposed a rule to prohibit firms from imposing noncompete clauses on their workers. https://t.co/PucNYHIfDD

Grateful to @BerniceKing talking about how #guaranteedincome was a part of her father’s legacy because it is a must for racial & economic justice. This is why all GI pilots must work to change narratives about deservedness by centering race & gender in their work.

Guaranteed income advocates have gathered in Atlanta at #GInow just as we’ve collectively reached 100+ pilots. But we want to move toward permanent policy—we know that @potus & legislators *can* pass a fully refundable #ChildTaxCredit — we’ve seen the evidence, time for change

Last year, child poverty dropped to HISTORIC LOWS thanks to the expanded, monthly #ChildTaxCredit. It's time for @POTUS and Congress to prioritize extending the monthly CTC!

265 days. A Black woman must work an extra 265 days—almost 9 months—to make what her white male colleagues make in a single year. On this #BlackWomensEqualPayDay, we recommit to racial and gender equality — starting with equal pay for equal work.

#GuaranteedIncome is a transformative economic justice program: “Let’s give people money—not vouchers, not subsidies. [Let’s] not have people prove to us that they are poor enough for support,” says @SpringboardToOp CEO @aisha_nyandoro. (via @MsMagazine)

A federal guaranteed income program would empower low-income parents, especially Black mothers, and end cycles of poverty for poor families.
