It's unfortunate how the people who chant "meritocracy isn't real" don't follow with "therefore we need to better close the gap" but instead with "therefore we should completely disregard it and reward people based on their looks"

Because child gender is ~ random, we can estimate the causal impact of being a "boy mom" vs "girl mom" by conditioning on # of kids. Mothers with sons are ~3% more Republican, while mothers with daughters are ~4% more Democratic. Child gender has ~ zero effect on fathers.

I believe the opposite of this. Reading novels is best for your mind and gives a compelling understanding of human nature, virtue, and what to desire in life. Articles are largely irrelevant slop by compare. And too much news makes one go from uninformed to misinformed.
reading books is one of those things that is incredibly overrated you will be absolutely fine if you never touch a novel in your life however, if you're not reading blogs, articles, ..., or news at all, then you are cooked, because you are not engaging your brain while watching

Citam a roda como uma das invenções mais antigas da humanidade, entretanto a mala de rodinhas não tem nem 100 anos. Aí eu vejo gente falando que a IA generativa atingiu um platô e não vai gerar mais impacto na vida das pessoas. Nem arranhamos a superfície do que dá para fazer.
As pessoas imaginam a "invenção da roda" como algo praticamente pré-histórico, mas a real é que a gente só começa a ver rodas frequentemente no registro histórico cerca de 6000 anos atrás. Motivo? Pra roda ser útil precisa de mais 2 invenções: O eixo e a estrada.
