Question: If US is running out of standoff weapons, how do we defend Taiwan? Our strategy critically depends on them.

I'm stunned at the number of self-described "analysts" who think they made a groundbreaking new discovery about air defence economics a week into the Iran war, but somehow missed Ukraine having successfully dealt with this for four years already.
🚨 Iran has fundamentally changed drone warfare. The Shahed-136. $20,000. Flies low under radar. Range of 4,000 km. 90 kg of explosives. The US Patriot missile that shoots it down: $4 million. That’s a 200-to-1 cost ratio. Iran doesn’t need to win every exchange. They just

What we're seeing now is both America and Iran facing the limits of their strategies. The regime didn't buckle and cut a quick deal with Trump. And Gulf states weren't the soft underbelly that Iran expected them to be That leaves the war as a test of wills, in which military

To watch in the next 24 hours: Japan is on alert for a possible release of its strategic petroleum reserve, the world's 3rd largest (after China and US). Tokyo may act alone, without US/IEA involvement. The American SPR is very well known; so it's the Chinese -- but Japan has

NEW: U.S. allies are watching in disbelief as DOD reroutes weapons to aid the Iran war, worried long-promised American arms will never come. “The munitions that have been and will be fired are the ones that everybody needs,” said one European official. https://t.co/7EGts4hHMk

We wrote last night on the challenge of intercepting Iranian Shaheds. More than 2,000 fired, some hitting important targets, including early-warning radars. This is a problem that Ukraine understands well. Understandably, it wants something in return.
