There is no sudden national emergency that means we immediately need to pay doctors 30% more or remove the child benefit cap, it’s just things they want to do, that they believe in & were always going to do, so this was just a straightforward lie from Reeves/Starmer

Listen to what Rachel Reeves said just last year 👇 “Labour will not put up your income tax, National Insurance, or VAT.” Was she lying, or is she just completely incompetent? If Reeves puts up tax, give her the axe!

When the right talks about the blob, its called a conspiracy theory. When the left talked about 'insidious influences' within the civil service, they were given a free pass.

How @BBCNews @BBCWorld @BBC lost my vote back in 1993(!) by SIMPLY MAKING STUFF UP about the attempted communist coup against Yeltsin simply to boost ratings. They didn’t even pretend not to have done it. Amazingly corrupt https://t.co/iox4JtEtvy

When your ‘senior international editor’ admits he doesn’t really care about putting out incendiary misinformation about a story as serious as the Al Ahli hospital bombing You’ve probably got a problem in your newsroom BBC resignations are long overdue. Congratulations to the

Interesting comment at the end of @bbcnickrobinson thought piece on @BBCr4today this morning: 'at the time of the transmission of the Panorama film back in 2024, there were no complaints about the editing of Donald Trump's speech.' As an ordinary viewer I would not have

It’s a general problem with a lot of “Left” tax advocacy. Thinking that the problem is real, the motive is good, and therefore the solution is correct. But that misses a step: what will the consequences be? I've written about this:

There’s a problem with a lot of Left-wing tax advocacy: it identifies a political challenge, and proposes a policy aimed at solving it. But the authors believe so strongly in the policy’s…

I 100% back the BBC. It is central to the values and identity of this country. Not just news but also arts, science, education, entertainment and more. Time to recognise and celebrate its brilliance, not to pull it down.

I keep repeating myself time and time again, but it is crucial to the basic understanding of the conflict. Most, though not all, pro-Palestinians, including many Palestinians themselves, are more anti-Israel than they are pro-Palestine, and that’s the *real* tragedy of the

I am afraid this 'blame the listeners' wxcuse rather might be a better clue. Too often, ⁿ misses the point. Nick Robinson blames BBC Radio 4 Today programme’s ratings slump on ‘news avoiders’

Irony of Yelland, Simpson & Robinson’s response is when presented with solid evidence of BBC failure they resort to evidence free conspiracy theory. They are the ones dumbing down journalism & imperilling our political discourse by doing away with need for evidence in assertions.

I agree with Nick. It is also true the campaign against the BBC is being fought by toxic forces with far less concern for accuracy and balance than the Beeb's news division. I'm sure, this time, Lisa Nandy, and her DCMS team, will call this right. Errors happen. We need the BBC.

London is a great city. It didn't invent the steam locomotive or start the industrial revolution. That's fine. Its fans shouldn't claim it did. I wrote about that.

No one waited for "consultations" & no one squealed, "we are waiting for guidance". People got on immediately with applying the "new" legal dispensation, which stated the law as it had always been. This Govt of maximalist lawyers knows this but dilly-dallies over the FWS ruling.
