As Tim points out, Khan is at times more honest than many claiming the decision was made solely on basis of safety risk posed by Maccabi fans. It has never been about safety for those campaigning for a ban on the club or fans
Ayoub Khan MP was far more honest than most regarding the Maccabi Tel Aviv ban. Look at his original statement below. The ban is because of ‘the political dynamics…’ In other words, the ban is not to protect us from them, but them from us…which remains utterly shameful.

Ayoub Khan & Jeremy Corbyn’s campaign to exclude Maccabi Tel Aviv was not motivated by safety. They seek exclusion of all Israeli competitors from sporting events. It’s a falsehood to say concern for safety was primary concern, indeed hostility *from* the community was weaponised

But as I’ve said before as a significant proportion of self appointed guardians of ‘anti racism’ are proving to be themselves racists too many are sliding along with them, pretending all this simply isn’t happening & even allowing themselves indignation at threat to ‘the rules’.

Those who organised campaign to ban not just the fans of Maccabi Tel Aviv but the team & all other Israeli teams from the UK have as little care for the safety of British Jews. Their rhetoric would be considered self evidently a threat to a persecuted minority in any other circs.

British Jews were also attacked in Amsterdam, it wasn’t ‘just’ Israelis, so the total erasure of both planning & antisemitism from the attacks is really bad if you care even slightly about the safety of our fellow citizens.

Number of FBPE types who have been radicalised into antisemitism is scary. Completely erasing the very well documented antisemitism of the attacks in Amsterdam, even if there was bad fan behaviour it didn’t ‘provoke’ organised antisemitic violence, is a really troubling trend.

Kneecap’s manager denying that the Islamic Regime in Iran brutalises women for defying the hijab law is the least surprising development ever.

Shalom from Tel Aviv. It was Hapoel fans throwing military grade smoke grenades that led to the Tel Aviv derby being called off. Maccabi fans not involved. That won’t stop malign actors trying to spin this. Remember: all they have is lies.

Sorry, crowd trouble at Maccabi game doesn’t completely erase the violently threatening antisemitic campaign with influence from intl terrorist linked orgs, fomented in Birmingham mosques & pushed forward by MPs. All that still happened. As determinedly as you would ignore it.

Keep repeating myself but there’s reason why Jews are disproportionately likely to be victims of race crimes in UK & self appointed guardians of ‘anti racism’ leaning towards pretending antisemitism barely exists & if it does it’s because Israel is uniquely evil is part of why.

Can’t get over how just 2 weeks on from antisemitic terror attack chunk of progressive left commentariat are erasing violently threatening antisemitic campaign spearheaded by MPs to ban football fans because they’re Israeli & erasing antisemitism from prior attack on these fans.

Hamas are not killing “collaborators.” They’re killing anyone who might oppose them, who offends them or who wasn’t careful enough not to put a toe out of line while they sat in well-stocked tunnels which no Gazan civilian was allowed to enter for two years.
Hamas is tracking down anyone who publicly thanked the GHF. And they’re publicly torturing them. This is who Hamas considers collaborators. The people who fed their families.

Also not true those arguing Israelis or Jews should be safe & welcome on any street of Britain want known hooligans in this country. Those who have committed offences can be identified & prevented from travel, as is standard practice, while the peaceable majority enjoy the game
The big lie, which everybody is repeating, is that Maccabi Tel Aviv fans have a reputation for, and a history of, racism, violence and thuggery. It's not true. Maccabi fans were subjected to organised and sustained antisemitic violence across the city of Amsterdam last year.

I’d be pretty ashamed of myself if I was running interference for those who carried out a preplanned attack on Jews which involved my fellow British Jewish citizens, especially in the wake of a deadly antisemitic terrorist attack. But I guess that’s where we are.

Hard to sustain argument the “violence” which was directed at Israelis & Jews generally was instigated by Israelis when the convictions hinged on evidence of preplanning in chat groups which were filled with antisemitism.

If “it was Maccabi fans that instigated most of the violence” why were only Israelis hospitalised? Why were the overwhelming majority of the arrests from the local Dutch community? And why did the trials of the locals convicted demonstrate planning? To attack ‘Jews’.
@OurPeopleIsrael That is incorrect. Although that was the first narrative out of the Israeli government and mainstream media, local residents and local police quickly determined that it was Maccabi fans that instigated most of the violence. This is why Maccabi Tel Aviv fans were banned from
