Sharing ideas on unlocking peak performance at work and in life. Ex-Strategist in an Investment Bank. Now carving my own path. Building @osventuresllc

I like the idea of having a theme each year. One big thing to focus on for the next couple of months. This year's focus for me is Speed. The inspiration comes from @elonmusk. Whether it means digging a hole in the company parking lot to start The Boring Company that day

Someone should send a copy of the book - Eats, Shoots & Leaves to the comms department. Based on the clarification from the minister it seems the issue on Page 2, point 7B is primarily due to its unclear phrasing.
I’d request The Telecom Minister of India to read the notification before calling it a ‘bewajah ki controversy’. Read page 2 , point 7 B. Clearly states that the app’s functionality is neither disabled nor restricted.

Wake up, world! This is where the next pandemic is coming from, not nature.
Dangerous gain-of-function research continues. Chinese virologists have constructed chimeras of bat SADSr-CoVs and SADS-CoV that show up to 10,000x enhancement of viral growth in brain. And have done so using grossly inadequate biosafety protections. https://t.co/YdoSttscIH

The bonus is that this is arguably one of the funniest 'serious' books ever written

Same is true of footpaths as well. What is infuriating is even the newest concretized roads are terrible in terms of construction quality compared to roads that were built 30 years ago, and as usual they have no walkable footpaths. Props to the @walkingproject for working to
There isn’t a 100 metre stretch in Mumbai city where one can drive without a bump Not a single stretch In the financial capital of India n wt the richest municipal corp, let that sink in Beyond disgusting @mybmc

Fascinating insight on how hour-glasses remained the dominant way of keeping time for ~200 years after the invention of mechanical clocks.
What can the mechanical clock and the hourglass teach us about AI? A lot, actually. Todd Rose ( @ltoddrose ) explains how the old competition between these technologies demonstrates how our values, not the tech itself, determine the future.

Hats off to @MTPHereToHelp for this genuinely innovative campaign! Please roll out the decibel meters across Mumbai at high-honking intersections.

This was a fun mind-expanding conversation. Full video below. Highly recommend attending some of the @ekkolapto salons to discuss ideas off the beaten path.
Our episode with @jposhaughnessy and @atmanpandya is now live on YouTube: https://t.co/PYuPAWj7zS It was a well-needed discussion on how funding has evolved beyond the confines of traditional academia and VC, and how this new flexibility can directly fund extremely experimental

You've probably woken up from a dream and wished you could remember more of it. Some dreams are vivid, almost real, while some ephemeral. But what if you could record them each night, and actually see them? Like a video. Join us next Thursday to hear directly from @ninon_lize
How do you reconstruct 3D visual perception directly from brainwaves? This isn't sci-fi. This is the groundbreaking research @ninon_lize co-leads. Join the MIT inventor & host @AtmanPandya to understand the science of decoding the human subconscious. https://t.co/xCGT8QUFw1

~1/3rd of all O'Shaughnessy Fellowships & Grants are made towards advancing all kinds of 'risky' research. This year alone, @osvllc Fellows are advancing research to record dreams, build a genome engineering toolkit, connect cells to the internet and more. Join us on Monday to
PSA: the next online @Ekkolapto salon will feature a discussion with Jim O'Shaughnessy (@jposhaughnessy) & Atman Pandya (@atmanpandya) on new mechanisms for science funding. RSVP here to join the Zoom call: https://t.co/8Youp7Wg8r

The AI Film festival in Mumbai might be one of my favorite new examples of "You can just do things" Shoutout to @hardeep_gambhir and the @localhosthq team for doing an incredible job in planning and organizing the entire event in such a short time. 🙌🏻
You guys killed it!!!! @localhosthq @BasedIndia @hardeep_gambhir @Chandan_Perla @suhasasumukh Never seen something like this before

@Kpaxs The only way to get to an 'optimal' you is on your own. Only you have all the knowledge you need about yourself. Your quirks, thoughts, hopes, dreams, your strengths, weaknesses, vices and more are all things only you will know. Only you can carve an optimal path to use all of

Now let's consider the 2nd order effects of this. As more and more content becomes AI generated, it will be only fitting that an AI on the other side will "see" the content before a human and filter out everything you don't want to see. (social media platforms already do
a16z-backed DoubleSpeed lets you control 1000s of social media accounts with AI, ensuring they look as human as possible - "never pay a human again"!

Whether intentional or not, it always seems ridiculous to me when people assume benefits for themselves from using AI, without also understanding that those benefits will ALSO accrue to everyone else too!

Far more applicable today than any other time in history. For example in Video - One video can get millions of views, the other hundred might get almost nothing. The point is to be in a state of mind that allows you to have the insights to get the results you want.
A correct insight saves 6 months of work, so comport yourself in such a way that you have correct insights. That is probably not non stop work.
