Interesting explanation, I always wonder why the marvellous TSR2 was canceled. .
"70 maintenance man hours per flight hour – twice the F-111. Maintenance typically cost the RAF around half its budget. so the TSR2 would have eaten the RAF alive – it was born to die, not live in peace. A Motörhead jet." The TSR2 story here:
