Greg Abbot has officially directed Family and Protective Services to begin investigating all trans children in Texas and prosecuting their parents as child abusers.
He has also instructed all teachers, doctors, and caregivers to begin reporting any trans students they see.

I'm not a fan of the WUL baseball themed WUL jerseys, but I didn't let that stop me from donating! 60% of the $150 jersey goes to the teams, so a straight $90 donation is effectively the same!

Finding it a little weird that teams are still traveling to Texas and Iowa for tournaments when these states have outright banned trans youth or trans women in sports. Teams are actively being complacent with openly exclusive laws instead of advocating for their trans teammates.

On the plane to NYC for my consultation with Dr. Bluebond-Langner for bottom surgery. This is so crazy, she is one of, if not the best, surgeon in the US and I have a consult with her? It still doesn't feel real.

People's goals and expectations are super different. For me personally, I value the culture of a team the most. If I don't feel like the team members want me there, not just as a player but as a person, then I'll play somewhere else.
Ultimate is a hobby, so I want to enjoy it

I think the "not playing to win" point is troublesome. It's not that non-nationals level teams aren't playing to win, it's that they get joy, accomplish their goals, and feel fulfilled in ways other than winning 90% of their games.

The observers are a more effective defender than the wind and sidelines combined at nationals this year. I think at least 80% of foul calls that go to the observers have been overruled in streamed games so far. It might be 90+%

My goal for this year is to play frisbee 75 times and lift 75 times. I'm starting a bit late because of surgery recovery.
League went much better than I thought it would! Honestly the hardest part was struggling to breathe and forgetting my inhaler...

This take, and a ton of the responses, are absurdly transphobic and erase nb people. Using "single gender divisions" or "split gender" for open div and women's div is erasure

I feel so much guilt for cancelling this trip and not going to Kansas. I know it was the safe thing for me to do mentally and physically, but I just feel so guilty that I didn't have the energy to be an out and proud trans woman in a discriminatory state.

Like obviously this is shitty, but how is this even optimal for MMPs? If you bring 20 to a mixed tourney, even if the ratio is 5-2 you are playing AT MOST 25% of the points with even playing time. That's on 1 off 3.

Very concerned about fields for GL regionals. Open is already at a different park than Women's and Mixed, but the park for W/X says it has 12 fields. I see 5 soccer fields which (just barely without any sideline) fit 2 ulti fields each. There are a couple baseball diamonds tho?

Picked up with a real club mixed team, and I actually enjoyed it..? There were only a handful of times where I was genuinely worried/frustrated/adjusting my play because of contact. Still a long way to go, but maybe I'll reconsider writing off mixed club

I can't believe I waited until post-college to build a pc. This was actually a ton of fun. Finding the right components, troubleshooting errors, fixing bios and driver issues. It's really nice knowing that I can still get joy from the electrical side of electrical engineering

This is all ridiculous, but I think the better question is why does PUL Championship Weekend still only consist of 4 teams? Bump it up to 6 or 8 teams so we can truly see some madness in June. I'd love to see 2 teams from each division plus a couple wildcards.

I've been playing ultimate for awhile, but I've only been watching high level ultimate since 2021. It is wild to see how different some players were pre-pandemic in films, ads, or USAU materials. Like Claire Chastain with long hair for example.

I'm proud that we made great strides in 2023 towards creating a Michigan professional women's and nonbinary team to showcase incredible players in the spread out frisbee communities of southern Michigan. Even if it's not starting in 2024, we still made a ton of progress.

From my time on Twitter, it seems like the language used is very region dependent. That being said, there are 3 main ones that I've seen
1) FMP and MMP (as DUFL uses)
2) WMP (Women-Matching) and MMP
3) DOW (Defender of Women), DOM (Defender of Men), and DOA (Defender of Anyone)
