This is a great list. Every single transformative technology is something “that’s been talked about for 50 years” until it finally crosses a cost and performance tipping point that allows it to go mainstream.
Here are technologies I saw develop over time. - Cell phones. The first ones were in bags. - Laptop computers. The first one I carried around weighed 28 lb. - Microwave ovens. The first one I bought cost about a week’s salary and had a windup timer as it’s only control. -
