I’m not dangling a carrot. Property taxes on homestead residences are local, not state, under FL’s constitution, which means voters need to approve any changes. The next general election is November 2026. I have always said this is what will need to happen re: property

If a constitutional amendment is approved by voters, that is not Tallahassee acting as a higher level of government over the locals. It is an act of We the People who are superior to both.
@RonDeSantis This is actually why I'm not a fan of the idea. I don't think the issue is property taxes as much as overall government spending. If property taxes are abolished by a higher level of government, that objectively destroys local government. As long as local government spending
