Well, Brendan - we may disagree on virtually all policy questions. But at least we agree that the @freedomcaucus has successfully delivered substantive wins. There may be a few more yet :).
Chip Roy and the House Freedom Caucus will likely vote for the bill. People are going to call this a “cave.”. It isn’t. They have successfully rolled their moderate colleagues and achieved larger Medicaid, SNAP, and clean energy cuts than anyone thought likely six months ago.

The real story of the OBBB is reforming Medicaid to require work & to return spending to pre-COVID levels, saving over $1 Trillion. A modest but important reform that would not have happened if the @freedomcaucus had not fought for it.
The main fiscal effect of the health provisions of OBBB is to gradually restore the projected path of federal Medicaid & Obamacare subsidy spending to the pre-Biden levels. Total spending in 2025 is ~$200 billion, or 33% higher, than what CBO projected just four years ago!
