This ladies and gentlemen is the real politics or resentment. A bunch of ungrateful, low achieving ‘journalists’ mad at a young millionaire (who is objectively one of the best at his job) for using his platform to help other peoples children...
Ok, so let’s address this. I’m 23. I came from little. I need to protect not just my future but my family’s too. To do that I made a decision at the beg of 2020 to start investing more in property. Please don’t run stories like this alongside refs to ‘campaigning’.
Haiti did all of this before Britain and Britain tried to reinstall slavery in Haiti and then joined France and the USA in allowing Haiti to be punished and forced to pay reparations. Either you’re ignorant of the wider facts or being disingenuous, you pick....
A reminder. Current British Prime minister made jokes about clearing away the bodies of dead Libyans (the Libyans they were apparently ‘saving’) to a laughing audience and we only know because the audio leaked. Always worth remembering how these man actually talk in private....
Staff at Shifa Hospital have shared this photo of their heroic attempts to keep the premature babies alive in an operating theatre after they were forced to shut down the NICU. Taken 6pm today.
Attacks on the hospital must end, and aid must be allowed to reach it.

Sorry new rule. I am no longer replying to people that lack basic comprehension in reading and mathematics and have the gall to be arrogant on top of it. Disagree well, have some intellectual self
respect.
It is not lost on me that Premier League football, the one place where someone born on the 14th floor of shitty tower block number 7 or into abject poverty in rural Ghana has a chance of getting wealthy, annoys some ppl so much more than golf, tennis or formula one... 🤷🏽♀️
It’s almost as if some people in wealthy ‘democratic’ nations have vested interests (both ideological and material) in the continued underdevelopment, mismanagement and brutality in other places in the world...
And all of the MP’s that voted for and justified that war - in both parties - have suffered no downside, not even a mild career setback for such a monumental ‘mistake’.
That Corbyn was called a racist probably more times than any other person in this nations - mildly colourful - history is a propaganda victory that any ‘dictatorship’ would be truly proud of.
This guy really is special ain’t he? Does he *really* not understand that his decision to invade Iraq against the will of at least a few million of the people that elected him is what ‘radicalised’ (as he would see it) half a generation?
'The takeover of the Labour Party by the far-left turned it into a glorified protest movement, with cult trimmings, utterly incapable of being a credible government'
Tony Blair tears into
@jeremycorbyn
, blaming him for
@UKLabour
's crushing election loss
Again what is ‘traditional working class?’. More people migrated to Britain from Poland, Italy, Ireland and Germany after the war than Caribbean and India... so who is ‘traditional’ and on what grounds? Say it with your whole chest big man 👊🏾

I think a lot of the push back against footballers having so much money by the mail etc is the subtle undertone of the chavs should not have so much p.. (especially the black ones of course) because...
1:The banning of TV shows just seems like liberals trying to annoy people. 2: Given that the UK intelligentsia/education spent much of the last 200 years erasing/downplaying the contribution of the enslaved to ending slavery I can’t take the ‘erasing’ history line serious
@akalamusic
Could I get your thoughts on the banning of TV shows and the pulling down of statues. Do we think erasing history is a way of getting equality for black lives. Or any lives for that matter?
There isn’t even the vaguest of ‘plausible deniability’ social media has left all of that in the past. For the last 114days we’ve all watched civilians, including children massacred, none of our ‘leaders’ can ever claim they didn’t know.
People believe themselves to be entirely ‘self made’ after receiving free education, free healthcare, subsidised housing, free museums, free football pitches to train on and living around infrastructure they could not build in a million lifetimes... 🤷🏽♀️
Professional footballers probably make the most disproportionate contribution to the tax base of any profession. They have as much right as any1 else to have an opinion on how those collective resources (to which they contribute so much) are allocated.
The body of six-year-old Palestinian girl Hind Rajab has been found decomposing in the car where her family were killed by Israeli gunfire in Gaza City.
A few metres away, the ambulance sent to rescue Hind was burnt out with the remains of two medics inside ⤵️
Firstly on a basic level just imagine being such a bootlicker that you would essentially attempt to justify unpunished extrajudicial killings by agents of the state on the grounds that civilians also kill sometimes...
Nope... they’re more interested in pretending that the children of University educated West African civil servants doing better than the children of yorkshire coal miners (and English-Jamaican plumbers for that matter) proves that the ‘white working class’ r being left behind...
@davies_will
To paraphrase
@akalamusic
, I can’t seem to find them expressing much interest in the question of why white, working class boys lag so far behind their white, middle class counterparts. Weird.
Im unsure what far left means today. Whatever Corbyn may *personally* believe I don’t recall the part in the manifesto about the dictatorship of the proletariat or ceasing the means of production? If you (or any1) could explain which specific policies you think of as ‘far left?’
When African and Caribbean nations are economically prosperous and politically and militarily capable of defending themselves (and thus their descendants) and not a single second sooner, unfortunately that’s just the way the world works.
I’m no medical expert - far far from it - but none of the way the govts moving seems logical, consistent or proportional to me. Can someone make it make sense?
Yes. More people migrated to Britain from Germany, Poland, Italy and Ireland after WW2 than from the Caribbean and India combined. That so much of the public is ignorant of this fact is by design...
But what exactly is ‘black on black’ violence? Is the Mafias violence olive on olive? Mexican drug cartels reddish brown on reddish brown? Russian Mafia white on white and the Japanese occupation of China ‘yellow on yellow’ etc...
Priti Patel - There's no such thing as dabbling in drugs, that's a serious offence.
Will Priti Patel now have half the cabinet/PM arrested for dabbling in drugs.
In other news. Do something. Anything. Go gym, read a book, help a random yout with him homework, do something useful/improving everyday. Wash rinse repeat. Don’t know who needs to hear this but hope it’s useful. Safe 👊🏾
I have one request, going forward can we try to use the appropriate term
#seriousyouthviolence
rather than just 'Knife crime' - I know its a mouthful but 'knife crime' seems to have become a dog whistle that does little to encourage serious thought at this point...
I was so pissed when he got killed I *almost* stopped watching GOT altogether. Imagine a grown man being that annoyed about a fictional character. That’s great writing.
The love capitalism until it’s a little peasant from Harlesden making crazy money and still actually caring about/putting into his community. Then it’s man should not buy breakfast.
It’s also hard to explain why there are no African cities in the worlds top 50 for murder rate - outside of South Africa - why Ghana is no more violent than Belgium etc etc...
And when the problems/challenges facing London’s Black underclass (what the state calls NEETS) are still ‘understood’ through the lens of Black (identity politics) with no class analysis at all, they’re definitely trying to say something else...
✨Some Akala to bless the TL✨
When the "Traditional working class" that journalists claim to speak for now includes *property developers* but still not black Londoners, I kinda get the vibe they're really tryna say something else.
John Bunn was wrongfully convicted of murder as a teenager and exonerated after 27 years of fighting for his freedom. He says the power of reading saved him. Now, he's building libraries in prisons.
While the scale of police brutality is obviously a hundred times worse in the US this old film might give you some context on why the issue resonates with people here especially as the police tried to have the film suppressed at the time...
It’s one thing to deplore eugenics on ideological, political, moral grounds. It’s quite another to conclude that it wouldn’t work in practice. Of course it would. It works for cows, horses, pigs, dogs & roses. Why on earth wouldn’t it work for humans? Facts ignore ideology.
Johnson’s belief in race and IQ pseudoscience/ his belief that Europeans should still be in charge in Africa - directly - (despite murdering tens of millions and subjecting untold millions more to forced labour and hundreds of thousands to concentration camps)... not a squeak
Media search in all UK national press, last 3 months, number of articles covering:
“Corbyn and antisemitism” – 1,450
“Johnson and Islamophobia” – 164
“Corbyn and IRA” – 272
“Johnson and Yemen and war crimes” – 2

That the reason footballers are so much better paid than rugby players, gymnasts or triathletes is NOT because football is more demanding physically, it’s just cos more people are watching, that’s it.

What’s funny about people cheering for this is not just the usual hypocrisy that British people have *actually* been one of the greatest beneficiaries of migration (often state sponsored) in modern history but that people think other nations won’t reciprocate....
We’re ending free movement to open Britain up to the world.
It will ensure people can come to our country based on what they have to offer, not where they come from.
Today marks 56 years of Jamaican independence. The contribution of Jamaicans in the UK and abroad is huge – long may that continue

Your point is what? Popo have an unbelievable amount of experience restraining drunk football fans and festival goers *without* tasering them, let alone in front of a toddler.
I mean ‘black on black’ murders are not even the majority of murders in London where all the darkies actually are let alone the entire UK... but make up whatever shit you want I suppose.
@akalamusic
It's a factually correct argument. Black on black murders are the majority of murders in the western world including the US 🇺🇸 and the UK 🇬🇧
It’s genuinely impressive that in the context of banking bailouts, corporate welfare, taxpayer backed investment schemes for those of us that already have even *a little bit of extra capital* that so many people have been trained to see help for the less fortunate as ‘handouts’
@akalamusic
Traditional working class is People who actually want to work for a living and keep why they’ve worked for, not people who want to vote for a handout. This applies to all colours and religions. Current Labour and Corbyn appeal to the free loaders not the hard workers.
I genuinely think this happens, people do stuff that no one was calling for or report something in a ridiculous way to make the whole argument look silly and petty and divorced from real demands and issues.
There are - and have been for years - more Cuban doctors working abroad than all G8 nations combined, more than MSF, British Red Cross and Unicef combined. Fascinating that this has attracted so little reporting from news outlets concerned with ‘humanitarianism’...
If the academic underachievement, lower occupational mobility etc of the Black English underclass is mainly due to the ‘Caribbean culture’ of their great grandparents we should expect to see similar disparities between Caribbean nations vs Nigeria, India, Pakistan shouldn’t we?
1.5 million working class Brits took
state subsidised migration to go and live in commonwealth countries, so yes particularly and specifically working class Brits have been major beneficiaries of migration....

Bullshit. I was raised in a shit part of Cumbernauld. Went to uni in the 70s and did an MBA in the 90s. Successful career. Just retired at 57. Secret...I worked hard.
People in the Caribbean having been part of the British/English ‘labour force’ since the middle of the 17th century ‘traditional’ here could be inferred to mean something else, can you clarify?
Maybe* worth remembering that many of us now successful artists (in no small part because of community centres, cheap studios and other subsided youth programmes) that support Corbyn’s labour - however reluctantly - are obviously going to end up paying more tax if he wins so...
We have thousands of years of accumulated knowledge just a few clicks away YET so many people lack the intellectual self respect to just do a quick fact check. Its quite a fascinating thing.
Because push come to shove most footballers probably have the wrong class loyalties, despite being so rich. These last two/three months have made that quite apparent.
Framing Black English kids whose great grandparents came here as culturally ‘Caribbean’ may no longer be useful for these kinds of things, given the actual nations of the Caribbean take education so seriously/have pretty good outcomes when measured against comparable nations.
@Will_Tanner

@thetimes
I'm not sure if
@akalamusic
is on here at the moment, but he's discussed at length issues relating to race, class and attitudes to education in the UK, Caribbean and West Africa.
As you can see the first 100 people killed this year UK wide look *extremenly* different from the London and teenage centric image that many people have in their minds
The United Kingdom is at its best when the world knows we have the courage of our convictions and a clear moral purpose.
For the United States of America and for Britain, this is the time to return to the world stage. This is the time for us to lead.
Yep. The whole (mainstream) conversation about ‘China in Africa and the Caribbean’ is conducted in this patronising and selective way... China is playing a larger role everywhere’s cos its the 2nd largest economy on earth, shocking I know.
