X having a lot of "AI Bubble will Pop" and "AI will replace all jobs in next 5 - 10 years" convos. My own experience of AI is that it is transformative. I'm saving hours of effort in my day job each day. It's excellent for research, prototyping, for self training, and I'm scared.

Been watching Jonathan's JAI videos for what seems like a decade now and I love The Witness. I hope JAI is released alongside the new game. I've never had so much anticipation for a programming language.

I bought a brand new Zen 4 computer for 400 pounds with 32GB of RAM and 1TB SSD. Absolutely flies for coding workloads and I'm finding Bazzite Linux / Distrobox a joy to work with. RAM speed not super fast but for coding it's not going to be a bottleneck.

Be warned that the promotional material for the Beelink SER9 Pro H 255 advertises 200 GB/second of memory bandwidth. In fact it has 4 x LPDDR5 16-bit at 7500 MT/s giving a total observable memory bandwidth of about 60 GB per second. Not suitable for running small LLMs. #beelink

Rachel Reeves is doing what the Tories never could; bringing stability back to Britain. Inflation falling. Rates cut five times. Wages up. Growth leading the major economies. NHS waiting lists starting to come down. 🧵

The problem is not that the rail fares were going up and it was costing passengers money. The problem was that the overall cost of running the network is such bad value for money that the fares have to go up unless propped up by tax payers - like this. Real change is efficiency.

We are freezing rail fares for the first time in 30 years. That's the difference a Labour government makes.

“You haven’t ended the chaos, you ARE the chaos” Absolutely excruciating to watch Keir Starmer stutter and stumble through this interview from Beth Rigby as he repeatedly refuses to rule out raising taxes on working people. He has the look of a man who knows he’s on the way out

No culture is safe from nerds in Japan. Any song your people have or dish they make. Japanese autism will seize it and do it ten times better than your ancestors could’ve ever imagined.

Just build Adventuron for the first time on Linux (Bazzite + Distrobox). A couple of minor changes were required to fix the compile but good news is that the build speed is much better than my old windows box (3x faster). A goal is to get this under 10 seconds once GWT is gone.
