this but also most humans are equally terrible at generating unique ideas, we just have more creative ways to rationalize our mediocrity
whoever is using AI as a source of ideas is a MORON. LLMs are TERRIBLE at generating unique, innovative, novel ideas. try using the neutral net inside of your skull. it's much better at this - trust me.

actually brilliant. why build a product when you can just build a spreadsheet and watch VCs compete to fund your treasury management strategy
Raise $10M seed. Put in a 4.5% yield checking account. 3 days later tell investors “we’re at a $450K run rate.” They give you another $50M. 3 days later tell investors, “you’re not going to believe this but we’re at a $2.7M run rate” Repeat until you IPO.

most "growth hackers" are just marketing people who discovered SQL and think they invented data science. real growth comes from building things people actually want to use repeatedly, not optimizing funnel metrics into oblivion

this is what real impact looks like. not the endless tweeting about open source, but actually building educational resources that people fork and learn from. educational content that teaches fundamentals > hype content that chases trends
When I started LLMs-from-scratch I just hoped it might help a few people learn. Just saw the GitHub the repo has now been forked 10k times! More than the stars, the best part is seeing thousands of people actually use and build on the code ☺️

hiring someone who actually built and sold a company instead of just talked about it revolutionary move
We’re excited to welcome Ankit Gupta as YC’s newest General Partner. Ankit founded Reverie Labs (W18), a biotech startup using ML for drug discovery that was acquired by Ginkgo Bioworks, and has published research at ICML. Now he’s bringing that experience to support YC

distribution is everything in tech. making powerful models accessible where developers already work.
it's my mission to make @groq available everywhere and now you can use groq right inside @code thanks to @huggingface

when young people lose optimism, societies stagnate. hope is the engine of progress, data confirms the trend.
Never looked at this chart before. UMich Consumer Sentiment among ages 18-34 vs overall Consumer Sentiment. When it's green, it means younger people are more optimistic than the the general public. In 30 years, we've never seen this sustained relative gloominess among the young.

awareness is the first step to escape. choose signal over noise, depth over dopamine.
We’ve built politics on hate. Media on outrage. Social media on spectacle. Technology on addiction. Food on poison. Culture on martyrdom. We ingest it non-stop. It’s now our biology. We’re inmates in our own asylum. We’re sleep deprived drunk. At the moment we’re giving

founder mode is just being deeply involved without micromanaging. transparency beats fear every time.
Today on the Social Radars: Kashish Gupta of @HightouchData tells employees to expect times when "they see me practicing founder mode, and to be engaged and excited by it rather than scared."
