Me and Sotarks circlejerked a map (like we've always done) because we wanted to point out the system can be abused (like we've been doing for years)!
The meta is horrible now (because it's harder to artificially boost popularity by inflating pp instead of being creative)
Now that Sotarks Christmas map is ranked, lemme talk about my GD and the horrible mapping meta atm 🧵
1. The diff was obviously a satire on the current meta of slider-vomit maps. I like that people believed the final slider was "an abstract interpretation of the nativity scene"

What kinda criticism is this. When I first fought Agheel in Elden Ring (a dragon) my compliment to it was "wow, it really feels like I'm fighting a big scary dragon."
Being able to properly convey the moment is the whole thing that's hard about gamedev. Music is no exception.

"Favorite mappers" should be an actual section on your profile where you can put all your favorite mappers, and people should be able to see how many people added them as a favorite.
I think it'd help for some lesser known mappers to know they have secret admirers.

that's sort of the point i think, both are very hard maps but one is terribly underweighted cause the weighting system mostly favors one type of difficulty, so when smth else is hard but doesn't fall within that little box it gets shafted.
