You can use household equipment to validate whether items are counterfeit! We have used laser processing to create unclonable electronic/optical labels. With an ohmmeter and a simple microscope, you can read these labels at home. Now in @NatureComms:.

It turns out that sparkling water and raisins are *fascinating*. My daughter and I happened upon this effect playing together in the kitchen a long time ago, and I couldn't help but explore the system more deeply. 1/n

For some numbers of colloidal particles, decahedral symmetry is thermodynamically more favourable but disproportionally rare. This is because crystallisation kinetics bias towards the icosahedral path at early stage of formation under spherical constraint.
