Reuniting with my @kochinstitute @snbhatia lab postdoc sisters @lesliewchan and @LiangHao_L2 in windy but sunny Baltimore! Thanks @BMESociety for providing us a platform to exchange our interdisciplinary research, reconnect, and expand our network! #BMES2024

We had a wonderful lab warming celebrating with colleagues, friends & many little growing scientists. You really can’t start early enough ;). We’re grateful the health science & medtech Gloria Cube @ETH_en has officially opened its doors and that our lab has found its home in it!

Marveling at a replicate of van Leeuwenhoek’s first microscope—what a feast for us bunch of microroboticists, @SamuelNanobots ,@MarianaMedinaS, Maria Guix, Ayusman Sen, and Zoran Cenev! Thankfully I made it to #MARSS @tudelft and could reunite!

I enjoyed straight 7h of sleep 🙏, a beautiful morning run in Bilbao 🏃‍♀️, and was pumped for a day full of exciting science 💪🏼, just to get the call from daycare that my 10months old has a rash and needs to be picked up…#macademia

I was surprised with this fun collage, prepared by my team, which captures some wonderful memories from the past six and a half years 🥹.

We did! 114.77km, 10:17h, 14 team members, alumni and friends! And the non-runners spoilt us with a delicious BBQ afterwards 😋! Quite out of shape after my 6 months sports prohibition & now with 2 kids, but so happy about the energy being back—and the awesome team spirit!

Fully back from maternity leave also means scrambling with stubborn daycare viruses 😫. Thanks to my team and all collaborators for accommodating sudden changes in schedule and switches back to zoom! One seriously needs triple back up support! How do you do it?.

We numerically model off-target torque suppression and suggest the feasibility of centimeter to millimeter resolution for human applications. Furthermore, we performed in vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrating the potential of this approach.

In this study, we borrow principles from magnetic particle imaging and apply magnetostatic selection fields to spatially restrict rotational magnetic fields and deliver torque to living magnetic microrobots only in desired regions for enhanced drug delivery.

We showed that these bacteria remain viable in whole blood, maintain their magnetic properties, elicit cytokine production by macrophages, and stimulate uptake of cancer cell material by dendritic cells.

Using image analysis tools and RNA seq, we show that cyclic mechanical microdeformation of the collagen matrix surrounding MDA-MB 231 spheroids increases cell invasion and subtly upregulates genes associated with migration and stress.
