Please share: @NornGroup needs a storyteller. Someone to make the real work in longevity go viral. To talk about the big picture, what needs to happen, and the people doing it. Someone who can help Norn travel across the internet to give people more tomorrows.

Two and a half years ago, my mom needed a liver transplant. Unfortunately despite preliminary but promising early evidence, liver transplant was still considered an experimental therapy for her condition. As a result of that and the fact that her liver condition typically results

Aging surrogates would be transformational in incentivizing clinical development for aging. To build better intuition about how we might achieve this, I’ve been studying case examples. This weekend I did a deep dive on accelerated approval for MASH and this recent FDA news.

Two weeks ago the FDA accepted a proposal for a reasonably likely surrogate endpoint for MASH. Echosens submitted a LOI for a non-invasive biomarker, which was accepted.

Last week, age1 published "Anatomy of a Biotech Failure," an analysis of 8 shutdowns over the past decade. But anecdotes only go so far. In Part II, we share insights from 64 closures since 2023 - check it out below!

Is the longevity field making progress? @NornGroup formed in 2021 to address that question. We’ve now built a website to make it clear who we are and how we work to make longevity medicine real. Read on for a summary, and some of our outputs.

In the past thirty years, the number of deaths from cancer has dropped dramatically, resulting in millions of lives saved. Some of this is due to improvements in oncology treatments, including immunotherapy. But most of the effect has little to do with biopharma at all.

Every year, hundreds of biotechs launch with credible platforms and science, only to unravel soon after. In "Why Do Biotechs Fail?" age1 mapped eight closures from the last decade, with key takeaways for founders and investors alike. Check it out below! https://t.co/4iE1UWKzaY

For Space, cost/kg to orbit is a driver of activity and a measure of what _can_ be done. The equivalent for Longevity is how accurately our measurements can predict future health. Spoke with @jasonjoyride about this recently, and will elaborate in this thread:

Pharma talks a big game about “healthy aging.” Few are actually building toward it. We ran the numbers so you don't have to: age1’s 2025 1st Annual Pharma Aging Report Card, ranking 11 global players on their commitment to the longevity field, is now live. https://t.co/SmdImuWmiR

Had a conversation with @owl_posting, my favorite online biotech writer!! We discussed: - Why focus on preventing DNA damage? - How do we tackle longevity, generally? What separates slowing aging from approaches like partial reprogramming? - How do you translate cancer

@GordianBio has a sponsor ticket to @ARDD_Meeting that we want to give away! We are supporting the conference as a major forum for the translation of aging biology into treatments that impact humans. Accomplishing this goal at scale will take more than academic and biotech

They said "talk to experts in the field" to find out issues with approach. Experts in the field turn out to be in delusion with potential of approach 🥴
