Not wanting to be "black music" and not knowing music history is why a lot of y'all shit be mid these days. No library to draw from cause you don't know anything beyond what was popular when you were in HS.

Who said anything about genetics? Blackness ain’t about genetics it’s about ancestry and consciousness. As is our music. Check this book out for an insightful analysis of the phenomenon of “Black music.”

I reject the term “black music” because it implies that black creatives are monolithic, which we are not. We are contain multitudes. That’s why icons like Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, and Duke Ellington rejected similar labels. They understood their art transcended genetics.

Blackness is varied. There is no monolithic definition besides music grounded in black musical traditions made by black folk. Your assumption is not the implication you think . Black music includes all genres ..

What do the studies in animal models show us? Restoring NAD+ supports metabolism, cognition, and immune health for longer lives. Support your longevity from the inside, at the cellular level.

Growing up in the 90s & early 2000s they wanted us to read, drink milk, play outside, just say no to drugs, reduce, reuse, recycle. Ms. Frizzle was our secondary teacher and Captain Planet was considered a hero. That’s the world I grew up in, so seeing where we are now is wild.

stop teaching kids that obedience is more important than discernment. that politeness matters more than truth. that keeping the peace is worth swallowing their voice. the world doesn't need more people who know how to be quiet when they should be speaking up.
