We hope the review and the accompanying resources will be useful guides for anyone looking to use CRISPR/Cas9 tech in cichlids or other non-model teleosts 🐟.

Finally, we recommend community resource management and discuss the technical challenges key to more efficient genome editing in cichlids, especially for HDR. Ending with a discussion of the evo-devo research avenues that would be opened up by these advances 🤩

From @evomorpholab, we've provided a forked version showing where our techniques differ Continuing to add forked protocols should provide an expanding resource to consult 📚.

At the workshop it became clear that despite commonalities, there was a diversity of approaches. We synthesised all these options and highlighted the technical bottlenecks that require attention. Incl. lots of tips, from editing strategies to breeding schemes!

This review arose from the genome editing workshop at #cichlidsci22, where the attending community realised the need for a synthesis of current progress. It brings together experience from different cichlid labs and from workshop discussions 🧬.

And more broadly thanks to the incredible #ActuallyAutistic community for shaping my views on autism diagnosis and research. My article is jam packed with links to research, opinion articles, and resources that I've found especially insightful. I hope it can be useful 🌈♾.

Something different: my autism research piece is out in @KeppelHealthRev!. ➡I argue that centering autistic perspectives is crucial for overcoming historic and ongoing harm . Excited and nervous to share this - a personal topic and v difficult to write, but proud of the outcome!

Thanks as well to @EMBO and @Kings_College for travel grants making it possible for me to attend - and to travel home by train instead of flying! Putting my college sustainable travel policy into practice 🤩.

Had an amazing couple of weeks exploring different organisms and ideas about development-environment interactions. Lots to think about!Thank you to everyone involved #EMBOplasticity
Last Friday we wrapped up 'Plasticity in developing systems: time, space, and environment'. 🦠🔬👏🏻 Huge thanks to our organisers, trainers, and speakers and well done to everyone who attended – good luck with your research and we hope to see you again soon 🤓💪🏾 #EMBOPlasticity
