At the workshop it became clear that despite commonalities, there was a diversity of approaches. We synthesised all these options and highlighted the technical bottlenecks that require attention. Incl. lots of tips, from editing strategies to breeding schemes!

This review arose from the genome editing workshop at #cichlidsci22, where the attending community realised the need for a synthesis of current progress. It brings together experience from different cichlid labs and from workshop discussions 🧬.
