🔥A new trick from our lab: >1M molecular weight semicrystalline "polycyclohexene" that can deploymerize at room temp. Even better, scalable using commodity monomers. Congrats to 🎉🎉Ke Zheng🎉🎉 who has transformed from a PAH maker to a polymer chemist https://t.co/GiqaVxW4x6

Cyclohexene cannot be polymerized via ring-opening polymerization under any conditions due to its lack of ring strain. A hypothetical polycyclohexene would therefore have a strong thermodynamic...

"With an excellent student, you just sit back and let them do their own thing" this was the case. 100% Junzhe's idea and execution 🥳🎉

Grad to share the last piece of my PhD work with @YanXiaLab and the first corresponding paper! We introduced competitors to temporarilly supress the crosslinking to reversibly modulate hydrogel stiffness and viscoelasticity. https://t.co/fOm9BUFJra

We report a new strategy that allows reversible tuning of the stiffness and stress–relaxation of viscoelastic hydrogels cross-linked via hydrazone bonds by incorporating a small-molecule competitor....

We were thrilled to celebrate and hear @CarolynBertozzi's truly inspirational speech.🥂🍾🥳 From her mother's struggle and fight to obtain higher education to social and gender equality. On top of the impactful chemistry that chemists biologists engineers and many others benefit

This is also many years of unfunded but persistent effort. Hope we now have enough preliminary results for the next funding applications🤞🤞

Bob also enjoyed life and made people around him enjoy lives. This was taken on the last "group camping trip" with Bob (Bobs) on Aug 3, 2019. I'm still not a big fan of camping per se, but camping with Bob is a whole different thing. I'm glad I drove 6h to camp with Bob one night

I asked him what project I may work on. He said talk to the people in lab and find a good problem. On day 1, he taught me two most important lessons. Bob had full dedication and true love to science and the people around him.

The first time I met with Bob as a 1st yr grad student was on Dec 26, 2005. He asked if I'd be around on Dec 26. I had to confirm I heard him right. He was just back from Stockholm. Who would believe a new Nobel laureate would spend the day after xmas working as usual! #BobGrubbs
