Allium harvest 2025 - garlic and shallots, with more garlic and shallots still in the ground as well as all the onions too. My patio is a vampire-free 🧛‍♂️ zone!

Excellent 4th of July meal - ribeye steak marinated in soy, pineapple, ginger and garlic, microwaved potato, homegrown green beans, and homegrown grilled shishito peppers. Whoever said one in ten of these are hot lied! Every 2nd or 3rd one was Satan spawn hot! #chemistswhocook

So what does one do with some many potatoes? Homemade potato salad! Used 3 pounds of potatoes to feed 10 people and this is all that is left. Lemon juice and olive oil base - no mayonnaise. Pretty darn tasty!

Yukon gold harvest time—10 pounds of 'taters from one wine barrel—not too shabby! The first pic was 4 weeks ago. The tops had died back to very few leaves, which suggested that it was harvest time. The other wine barrel has the green beans that I have been enjoying since mid-May.

I love this time of year! Nothing like spending most of the evening shredding a pile of lettuces and other greens from the garden and making a big pot of salad that will last for the next week. Add some salad shrimp and onion greens and I am good to go! #chemistswhogarden

Off we go – garden beds 1 & 2 are fully planted! #1 is 10 tomatoes, 6 peppers, 2 eggplants, 3 bunches of cucumbers & 2 clumps of basil. #2 is 4 more tomatoes, 2 zucchini, 2 butternut squash & an assortment of bolted spinach, bok choy & feldsalat plus onions. #chemistswhogarden

April is “garden plant starts in every window sill” month - tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash, eggplant, and beans. A whole garden waiting inside until it is warm enough to plant outdoors.
