As a GP who understands the pressures we are facing daily, there is no doubt in my mind that PAs are being used inappropriately in GP without the supervision that is required @medicalmodelbri @Doc_IonaCollins @DrNeenaJha @iDrSunny

No one can work as a DOCTOR in GP without min 5yr at Medical School, 2yr general hospital roles & 3yr GP training Then they can consult undifferentiated patients with undiagnosed problems Yet @NHSE_WTE decided this was OK for a PA This is a patient safety issue for the UK

£4.2 million of work that your GPs have been doing for free every year. Make sense yet?

this PA can't add up yet wasn't to prescribe and see patients . How did the NHS drop its standards lower than a limbo dancer, who died....and was buried at sea, in the Mariana trench

"The clinical knowledge and skills required for the assessment and examination of children in these circumstances, are such that they are far beyond the level at which a PA should be working, even under supervision." The professional body has spoken. https://t.co/BRek8e1Roq

How many doctors does it take to remove Stephen's Nash head from up his own arse?
@DrSelvarajah Surveys are opinion not evidence... Come on chap. I know it's been a long time since academic rigor has been applied to anything out of those disliking MAPs but... Please try.

The Advertising Standards Authority steps in after a midlands GP surgery falsely advertised the role of their PA to patients: 🚨 LIE: “A contact with one of them should feel the same as a GP” (PAs are trained to be an assistant role, not a doctor role) 🚨 LIE: “PAs are

@chriscraigCCC I predict that the first adverts for PA aesthetic clinics featuring the words “GMC-registered” will pop up approximately 0.3 seconds after GMC regulation kicks in

I'm not sure the example of a person in mid twenties with 'palpitations' is a good illustration of 'heart failure'. He almost certainly had cardiomyopathy.

Cases are predicted to nearly double by 2040 as charity warns of 400,000 people in UK with undiagnosed heart failure

Completed the GMC PA consultation. It's hard work reading all the gumph. but plenty of space to raised concerns about the registration and retrospective accreditation of (20 year old?) PA masters/diploma.

I honestly thought that right to fair trial and legal representation no matter what a pretty well understood conservative value. Utterly dumb Mark Jenkinson' guilty of lifting someone else's bad understanding and adding his own turd flavoured icing on top

Jeannie Watkins has 8 papers in INDEXED journals Approximately 20 further indexed articles have cited these 8 papers. This work has led to citations in IEA and other think tank documents to push through national policies which are killing people. This is criminal.

Before being self righteous. May I suggest that you contact your surgery immediately because you are illegally being presented as a medical doctor without any mention of your physician associate title. @gmcuk

Explain why this is repeated without qualification. PA do not bring any skills that are not already there in the form of a doctor. If a PA is there instead of a doctor then PA is taking the place of a doctor. This is not hard to understand.

The GMC taking responsibility for the registration and regulation of PAs & AAs is a seismic shift. It’s not just a minor change. Pressure will soon come from the NHS and government for PAs to be able to prescribe & order imaging, making them de facto (but under-trained) doctors.

Peer review now means not reading a whole article and bluffing like a blowhard. What a tit
The NHS is a late-stage acute system built around people staggering into A&E/GP with lumps/bumps to be saved by expensive operations. Expensive madness! 🤡 Why is this? This article from a serving GP shows what's holding us back. 🙄 #HealthyBritain
