Our paper in Science is out! @Sour_Agrawal, @xiuhua_linwisc, @viveksusvirkar, and the rest of the team show human RPA is a telomerase processivity factor essential for telomere maintenance. This reshapes our thinking about telomerase regulation.

Telomerase counteracts telomere shortening by repeatedly adding DNA repeats to chromosome ends. We identified the replication protein A (RPA) heterotrimer as a telomerase processivity factor critical...

Grateful to Joan and Sandy Weill for their visionary gift, bringing the best from @Stanford @UCSF together to transform cancer care. And excited for our Project FEAST team tackle critically unanswered questions at the intersection of cancer, nutrition, obesity, and GLP-1 drugs.
Launched today- the Weill Cancer Hub West -supporting transformative cancer research collaborations btw @UCSF & @Stanford. Honored to co-lead, with @longlabstanford, our team who will study the impact of diet on pancreatic cancer initiation, progression and therapy response.

Great work by Mugagga, @LainyVonBank and @_JessDavidson from the Simcox Lab! SCD1 is known to regulate the production of monounsaturated fatty acids and development of diabetes in response of high carbohydrate diet. We showed loss of SCD1 also controls acylcarnitine levels.
Research from the James Ntambi and @JudithSimcox Labs reveals an enzyme’s important role in maintaining a healthy balance of lipids in our bodies. More on their latest research:
