Looking back we can see the gravity of this situation in this news story about the #koala at a QGC lease nearby https://t.co/qGIshyg11y
abc.net.au
A gas company is given federal approval to clear 54 hectares of koala habitat for new coal seam gas wells on Queensland's Western Downs.
Mr Matt Jeffries from Arrow Energy is the latest #KoalaKiller on the block spouting offsets & ‘strict environmental regulation’ by which the gas industry in south west QLD continue to wipe out koalas and their habitat. Shame. #CSG #Auspol #Fracking

@jo_noCSG “"You get up to 70 and 80 per cent mortality once you move animals away from their homes," she said. "It's like saying to you tonight, 'I'm going to knock your home down, no worries, I'll build you another one, but just wait 20 years and in the meantime just wander around'."

Based on Santos’ equity share of the Moomba CCS project and assuming it operates at maximum capacity, emissions injected by Moomba CCS would only be equivalent to 3.27% of Santos’ 2024 overall emissions.

Santos has walked back emissions targets in its latest climate report, and is using carbon capture and storage (CCS) as a smokescreen for expanding gas production. Any emissions captured by Moomba CCS will be a drop in the ocean compared with Santos' current annual emissions.

@QuentinDempster @paulsakkal @smh @theage Sleeping around on your wife with your media advisor will have that effect. Number of days since Barnaby's had a workplace incident and fallen over a planter box drunk doesn't help.

Hiding the Beetrooter. Barnaby Joyce now a pariah within the National Party. He’s considered to be a women’s vote repellant. All optics of course. Barnaby’s still an influence peddler of Gina proportions. Revealing article by @paulsakkal @smh / @theage 👇
