Thanks to @JLeiper for identifying some of the hard choices we need to make on #planning when it comes to #climateaction. The #climate logic is clear: building compact, walkable 15-minute neighbourhoods (*not* more R1 zoning) is a #sprawl solution. Let's get it done!

Planning & Council voting on Official Plan in coming weeks. Current Draft not going to get us the #walkable #neighborhoods we want. A few critical revisions could make a world of difference. We have 4 revisions that we see as critical. Read 3rd one here: https://t.co/BkLMRgcqzh

The value of modeling is clear. Simulation and modeling allow us to understand what is likely to happen under certain conditions.

The City’s new Official Plan includes some terrific language that suggest a much-needed revised approach to intensification.

Why does intensification have to be so hard? ...Conflict around intensification is rooted in much more than just “resistance to change”.

"Through 5 thousand years of urban living, people have lived over the shop. Mostly because it was the only possible arrangement. Urban dwellers with something to produce or sell had to do it out of the only space available, & that was usually their home." https://t.co/2wNXqbKTkU
