We need greater support for domestic tree production to meet climate change and biodiversity targets. UK-grown trees are best for biosecurity, and support other native species in complex woodland ecosystems. Local supply chains create green jobs. https://t.co/tukqKHrzum

"But as global climate negotiations at COP30 begin in Brazil, and the world is focused on protecting the most valuable remaining forests, this feels like a lost opportunity to show domestic leadership in the protecting and restoring the UK's own precious temperate rainforests."

A welcome example of greening the grey in @CityWestminster. Trees make our city streets liveable. West Fitzrovia has some of the lowest tree cover in London, so this action is much needed. https://t.co/Hvdfjrjuvg #TreeEquity #PlantMoreTrees https://t.co/lF3pWi38Yx

Streets in Fitzrovia West could benefit from extra greening in a scheme to plant trees on "highway build-outs" in former car parking spaces.

We were supporting Laughton Greenwood - formerly Vert Woods at Lewes Climate Hub today so that more people could find out about this special ancient woodland just outside #Lewes. Their #tree-planting day is Sunday 30th November from 10.00 to 4.00 p.m. https://t.co/G1mz34KR0M

🌳How does biodiversity help with climate change? Native trees & shrubs thrive in local climates & offer wildlife multiple resources, so if one fails during extreme weather, others remain. Stronger ecosystems mean greater climate resilience. Learn more: https://t.co/bPuQJzFA6Z

Vital that Biodiversity Net Gain requirements are upheld not undermined "Weakening BNG at this pivotal moment would be a step backwards for both growth and nature’s recovery, and a huge missed opportunity to drive this world-leading policy forwards.” https://t.co/8rA2j38anW

Lovely article by Sofia Fenton: "We don’t need to save the trees just because they’re beautiful or ancient or essential to the planet’s survival (though they are all of those things). We need to save them because, sometimes, they save us." https://t.co/IA2sKpjIOG
