We have a new Lord Mayor! Councillors have voted for Cllr Robert Rigby to become the first citizen for 2024-5. Cllr Rigby said: "It is a huge honour and an enormous privilege to accept this role. Westminster is truly an international and multicultural city".
His two charities
It's a historic night here at Old Marylebone Town Hall as we say farewell & thanks to outgoing Lord Mayor Patricia McAllister, who - in a nod to her Scottish roots - is piped into the chamber. Councillors will now vote on Cllr Robert Rigby as her successor.
Tonight’s Full Council is starting imminently, where Westminster’s new Lord Mayor will be elected for the 2024/5 year.

This evening we say goodbye to Westminster’s wonderful outgoing Lord Mayor!
During Cllr Patricia McAllister’s year in office, she has managed to raise an amazing £25,000 for the two chosen charities close to her heart – homelessness charity The Passage, and the Carers Network.
