The battle isn't just 1 incinerator, 1 sewage discharge, 1 Asphalt plant, 1 landfill site, 1 green field building plan, AQMA, it's the system that enables, doesn't question, investigate or properly monitor our whole country! #whoregulatestheregulators

We call it 'regulatory capture' but there is a strong smell of corruption coming from parts of the Environment Agency. Why is government ignoring it?
30,000 people now agree that the Enviornment Agency is not fit for purpose and there needs to be a public inquiry Please retweet to keep this momentum going âŹď¸âŹď¸ https://t.co/rx8SNTj8vt Read more about the EA failing to conduct an appropriate investigation into a Caterogry 1

Please remember @EnvAgency regulates our water but also the "air quality" in towns like Newhaven, companies like @FMConwayltd @brightonargus @newshaven @jamesm
Well said Matt. We should all stop talking to water companies about this stuff, itâs a charade. Demand that the @EnvAgency does what it was setup to do, defend our rivers.

@RachSalv @JamesBevanEA @EmmaHowardBoyd Perhaps you should remind @EmmaHowardBoyd and the other EA board members of the Code of Conduct for Board Members of Public Bodies particularly the section dealing with openness and accountability.

Damning! Almost 1,500 of the most serious pollution events over the last five years were originally reported to be low impact. How does the Environment Agency square that with its policy to ignore reports of 'low impact' pollution? https://t.co/aqn1e0AKVI

It's already been hinted at by 1 EA employee low level reports often lead to the discovery of much bigger, more widespread, harmful pollution incidents. Here now is the proof. Time for change. Time to go.

@Feargal_Sharkey @EnvAgency Mitigation is one of the worst expressions in development planning!

It's obscene to use the word 'restoration' in this context it's nothing of the sort. It is simply enabling the behaviour of the water companies and ongoing failure of the @EnvAgency. Deal with flow and water quality, then you'll have a foundation, if not it's all greenwashing.
@Feargal_Sharkey this is being planned for the restoration of the River Stort, a neighbour of the Cam, and could be an example by @EnvAgency of how to unravel decades of abuse which has meant pollution and loss of biodiversity. We'll see... https://t.co/au8ZeYD0Ob

A total overhaul of our planning/ industrial regulation processes is needed not just Water Companies @freshairnow79 @plumeplotter @NofromConsett @StopTheRebuild @RachSalv
Difficult to imagine this is only Water companies, Newhaven has a number of companies "regulated" by EA when are we going to start looking at them+ their "permitted levels" of pollution #invisiblepollution
