Fresh, new habitat refuges for small mammals and other wildlife on Hackney Marshes grassland. These safe zones form stepping stones, part of the new ecological connectivity between the Old Lea and the Lea Navigation, the aim of this year’s project.

Why are we still spraying glyphosate, a probable carcinogen, in Hackney in 2024 in the midst of a biodiversity crisis? This was in De Beauvoir Square. #pesticidefree #naturerecovery #biodiversitycrisis

‼️Everyone who cares about nature can have a say no matter where you live in the UK‼️. 📋 ONLY 6 Days Left‼️ to object to the construction of this very expensive and environmentally damaging road scheme!! The most effective, and easiest, way is to go to the Norfolk Wildlife

@PeterFox61 Poppycock. It’s one of our most important native wild flowers and supports a vast array of pollinators. There’s no requirement to control it and proven cases of harm to livestock are exceptionally rare. Animals avoid it. Proper fact checking prevents public ridicule!

Can anybody help? I just don't have time 😔 Many swifts at a loyal swift colony at Albert Road, Ramsgate have been blocked from their nests by scaffolding. they probably have young in nests too. no answer at property (its flats) This is against the law & I have reported to police

@WGHaggerston @LQHomesMatter @hackneycouncil Unfortunately grounds maintenance by HA contractors so often reflects no interest in environmental and biodiversity concerns. Hacking back shrubs & trees, often at worst time of year for breeding birds, and use of “hard cut” to minimise future maint. Same at my @PeabodyLDN block

@WGHaggerston @LQHomesMatter @hackneycouncil So depressing. This is not acceptable @LQHomesMatter: homes for wildlife matter too, especially during an ecological emergency!

Comments by @LQHomesMatter do not reflect the chain of events as they happened. We worked with L&Q + @hackneycouncil to reduce cladding works impact on green space + biodiversity but GM contractors were sent both during+after works which is when most of the destruction happened.
