Good luck to those sitting the primary FRCA today. In medicine, we’re bad at talking about failures. I failed my 1st go by 0.6%, although the number stays with me, & failure is a good teacher, it didn’t define my worth as an anaesthetist. You are more than a mark on a paper.

Envelope calculations… say an anaesthesia CT1 earns ~40-45k pre-tax/deductions. That equates to ~2.3-2.7k per month net. @RCoANews asks for ~25% of monthly take home pay for an exam, but can’t allow payment by installment? We can do better right? @GaslingSarah

Back of envelope calculations regarding #RCoAEGM mandate 2020 RCoA census says there were roughly 15,500 U.K. anaesthetists Resolution 1 had 4942 votes cast, this represents approx 31.8% of U.K. anaesthetists. ~1/3rd of all anaesthetists voted - that’s pretty impressive

ECG tip - a standard ballpoint pen (e.g. biro) is approx 30 large squares long (6 seconds). If your ECG doesn’t have a rate on it, simply put the pen on the rhythm strip & count the number of QRS complexes along its length, then multiply by 10 #ECGhacks #MedTwitter
