Casino licenses “would lead to the employment of thousands of hotel workers who lost their jobs.” They’re not just billions in state revenue. They’re the lifeline hospitality workers need.

Too many workers who got laid off during COVID never got their jobs back—so Oakland's City Council passed a law requiring businesses to rehire their workers instead of replacing them. That's a recovery where EVERYONE can come back stronger. #WorkersRightsTownHall

Essential workers are more than just essential. They power our cities. In Chicago, we are fighting for working people by increasing the minimum wage, passing an anti-retaliation ordinance and a fair work week for low-wage workers. #LaborDay

While we aren't able to celebrate Labor Day like we usually would — parades, rallies, and actions — that doesn't mean the labor movement is slowing down. This year, we have learned more than ever how important unions are to leveling the playing field for the working class. ✊🏽

As activists, we don’t like to highlight our losses- but we will have many losses in our fight for justice. Win or lose, it is important to fight for what is righteous. We won’t always win, but it is still important to fight. “At least we will have spoken.”

In 1933, the American Jewish Congress (@AJCongress) declared a boycott of Nazi-German goods. It was endorsed by the American Federation of Labor @AFLCIO. “We must speak out. If that is unavailing, at least we shall have spoken." Boycotts aren’t a ‘cancel culture’ trend.

Workers are calling for testing and screening among other common-sense protections ahead of reopening. If you plan to go to a university, airport, casino, or hotel in the near future, ask if they’re following #UNITEHERE's Clean Hospitality Checklist. https://t.co/7rZSYTQ86X

In the face of mass unemployment, workers need the #HEROESAct to extend the $600 COVID-19 unemployment benefits. It'd also create a framework to keep workers on payroll & protect the pensions of 30M workers & retirees in the public & private sector. #SenateActNow #WorkersFirst
