Honored to attend the United South End Settlements Neighborhood Gala this evening at the Boston Center for the Arts.

It’s inappropriate to protest in front of the home of

I’m outraged and disgusted at the white supremacist group protesting today in
#Boston
. It’s critical to call out hate and intimidation when we see it, educate children on horrors of the past & stand w/the Jewish community, our immigrant neighbors & communities of color.

We are experiencing an increase in assaults on police officers in Boston. It’s never acceptable to verbally or physically assault a police officer. Let’s treat police officers with respect and work together toward the goal of healthy and safe neighborhoods for all.

The story should be about the behavior of Ricardo Arroyo, not the way in which this incident was reported. I didn’t send the letter to the media. Arroyo has a track record of harassing women. Boston deserves elected leaders who have integrity & ethics,of which Arroyo has neither.
The story should be about the behavior of Councilor Ricardo Arroyo, not the way in which this incident was reported to the media. Boston deserves elected leaders who have integrity and ethics, of which Arroyo has neither.
The tension in the Boston City Council continues with a new statement via Twitter about Councilor Arroyo from City Council President Ed Flynn in response to an article in the Herald.
@EdforBoston
These tents must be taken down immediately. There can no longer be a climate in Boston where anything goes. People have to be held accountable and follow the laws and if you don’t, there has to be consequences for that.

A majority of the Boston City Council expressed concerns or outright opposition to the mayor’s proposed anti-encampment ordinance for Mass and Cass during a Thursday hearing, placing Michelle Wu’s plan for the troubled area in jeopardy.
Throughout the weekend, under dangerous conditions and with limited resources and personnel, the men and women
@bostonpolice
once again provided exceptional public safety support to Boston’s residents and visitors. It’s important to say thank you for your commitment to our city!
Let us take a moment today to pray for the Boston Police Officer who was stabbed while responding to a domestic call yesterday. We thank this officer and the responding police officers at this incident. The BPD performed heroically and with professionalism.

SB bars & restaurants will be closed today as part of a voluntary agreement. Thank you Mayor Walsh, my fellow SB elected officials, neighbors, Licensing Board, license holders in SB for working w/ us & taking these sound proactive measures to protect the public’s health.
It was an honor to serve as the president of the Boston City Council for the last two years. Thank you to my council colleagues and the residents of Boston for this privilege. Boston works best when we work together!
Upon reading the media reports of these troubling allegations and conflicting information, I have decided to rescind my endorsement of Ricardo Arroyo for Suffolk County District Attorney.
The Trump Administration may limit citizenship for some children of US troops born overseas. As the father of 2 military kids, I can attest that military kids are some of the most courageous and resilient Americans I know. Their citizenship should NEVER be in doubt.

Our prayers are w/

Our Chinese & Asian community deserve to be treated w respect & empathy. It's wrong & racist to call this the "Chinese Virus". We cannot tolerate discrimination towards our Chinese & Asian American neighbors. We must stand together and support each other.
The current system of forced overtime
@bostonpolice
is a failure. Recently, at least one officer worked a 24 hour shift. Mistakes are made when an officer is sleep deprived. I’m requesting a meeting w/BPD Commissioner to discuss my concerns & will file a hearing order.

Boston residents deserve positive and responsible leadership from the Boston City Council. Troubling ethical and legal lapses continue to reflect poorly on Council members, and Boston residents deserve better. See my statement below:

I have advocated for the hiring of hundreds of BPD officers every year to address overstretched resources, forced overtime and retirements. Forcing officers to work fatigued is not the answer. We must work together to provide adequate staffing levels to ensure safe neighborhoods!
Please see my statement on the shameful emails and social media comments targeting our City Council colleague. We must treat each other with respect and civility, and stand up against all forms of bullying.

decision based on science, data, advice of public health officials. Critical for neighbors to come together in public health emergency impacting us all; particularly communities of color, seniors, persons w/ disabilities. Neighbors should feel safe, know all steps taken
THREAD: The best way for Boston to stay healthy & support our communities is for all of us to get vaccinated.
That’s why starting on Jan. 15, we’ll be requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination to enter certain indoor spaces in Boston.
Let us take a moment to pray for the two Boston Police Officers who were shot today in Dorchester. We thank these officers & their families for their heroic service to our city. Violence against police and first responders is unacceptable.

Public protests at people’s homes must have limits. These demonstrations are hurting our neighbors, seniors, persons with disabilities, veterans and young children. I agree with Councilor
@RicardoNArroyo
. Today’s demonstration at the home of his mother was targeted harassment!
This AM my 70 yr old mom, a retired BPS teacher, had her home targeted by antivaxxers. She told them it wasn't my home but they ignored her & kept on for hours. City Hall is open and they can protest there. It's clear the goal isn't protest but targeted harassment and its wrong.
We need to hire at least 300 police officers every year to address overstretched resources, forces overtime & retirements. We need BPD details at construction sites. Our highly trained officers have the skills to ensure public safety & are available in the event of an emergency!
A beautiful day to celebrate the opening of Martin’s Park. Dedicated in memory of Martin Richard, this park will provide so many families the opportunity to enjoy an accessible playground & open urban space. TY to the Richard family &

Honored to join colleagues in government for today’s celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. We also highlighted the important contributions the Turkish community has made to our city and nation!
