Having just finished @SayeedaWarsi’s book I am not surprised there is little celebration in the press today that a Muslim Mayor of London - election three times - has been Knighted. It actually is a wonderful story of integration and positivity… Southgate won zero, Khan won
Don’t recall there being much outrage when Conservative No10s in every administration in recent yrs doled out honours to scores of backbench MPs basically for just being MPs. We should have fewer political honours but the thrice elected London mayor seems an odd place to start.
