The private company Restore Trust is now circulating a fundraising email asking for 'donations' & claiming that only 15,887 National Trust members voted against their Quick Vote resolution this year. This is not true. *69,715 members voted against it and it was defeated.* Pls RT

This take on our AGM seems to be a story the Telegraph ran in 2017 (when we didn’t ‘cancel’ Easter). The calendar was designed to supplement public holidays like - er Christmas & Easter, which are celebrated at all National Trust properties. Happy Diwali 2023 to one and all.

If you are a @nationaltrust member, please, don’t vote for the oddly politically-linked candidates who claim to “Restore Trust”. Their aim is to limit access to knowledge; to stop extra layers of understanding being added. History belongs to us all, but they want to keep it.
