This is my current favourite sign I've seen in #Bristol - sums up roadworks in the city perfectly. Is there a funnier sign?

Resubmission cover letter "comments have been received from Officers, consultees, local groups & members of the public.. amendments made to the scheme respond positively to the feedback received from the Council’s consultees & officers" But not local groups or the public.. 1/2

At public forum, a resident asks why the business licences for parks has not gone through consultation. Stephen Williams (I assume) replies, it has! In 2018. We've had two administrations since then. If you click hrough, you'll find it's the 2018-2020 model. It's expired.

@stillawake A precedent that councils can ‘consult’ followed by ‘put on hold’ for let say 10 years, then use unreviewed, out of date information to implement new policies ??? What kind of madness is this?

You'd think with an Arts Trail on in a particular location. The council would think oh it may be busy, let's add an extra check of the bins in that area, just so it's tidy. Too much to ask for Bin on Wells Rd earlier - this rubbish will be scattered making extra work. #Bristol

Great choice for a Bristol favourite! Great choice! "So bold and cheery, the bright yellow Banana Bridge makes a grey walk to Temple Meads into a ray of sunshine. Countless times I’ve stopped to admire the New Cut from it too." https://t.co/bl22nJSl6b

Come on @BristolCouncil & @EdPlowden this isn't good enough there's no pavement open on the other side due to works - pedestrians & cyclists don't need to wade through puddles and run the risk of getting soaked. Dangerous for cars too I'd imagine. #Bristol

The government says it will save £100m over this Parliament and less than 20% of voters can name their PCC.

The Deputy Leader of the Green Party, one of the loudest “refugees welcome” cheerleaders, is now furious that 600 men who arrived on boats are being housed in her constituency. Suddenly she’s making the same arguments she’s spent years calling “far-right”, “racist” and
It has been astonishing to experience first hand how badly the Home Office mismanages asylum seeker accommodation. Wealden District Council has written to the Minister to make clear our dissatisfaction. (1/2)

@rachelmillward If you’re going to lead a party that campaigns for more immigration, more rights and easier routes to the U.K. then you need to be ready to accommodate those that come. Saying “asylum seekers welcome, but not here” is so weak, own the consequences of your position.
