I have long thought that we need a different approach making conferences more inclusive by using cheaper conference venues. Use a training center, holiday camp out of season, university during holidays etc. Social program not included. BYO food.
Got a poster accepted at a medical conference. Great. Go to book it - even with the discount for presenting, the cost is £520 for 1 day or £800+ for the full 3 days. Can any junior doctors actually afford this? That's my entire monthly rent and bills. @RCEMLearning

Trauma services are very much a bellwether for the mood, activity and stresses of the nation. Across London trauma centres are seeing a palpable increase in people trying to take their own lives and self-harming. (On the back of year-on-year increases over the last 10 years).
