Favourite thing about today’s Inset, which is why
@WrenSchool
is the best school, is the school celebrating our local history and one of those things being
@ReadingFC
Great to see the Ding on the corridors ❤️Up the Ding!

I’m not going to go into this…long story short
@ReadingFC
have made it our job as fans to organise this. Please can I ask for an applause this Saturday (16th) on the 59th minute for my stepdad. 1964-2023. He supported the club for 53 years ❤️
@OfficialBWFC
All round special day today!
@ReadingFC
thank you for the support

and
@OfficialBWFC
fans. This is a special moment that I will never forget! Love you all
Hi
@ReadingFC
please can I ask that we have a minutes applause for my stepdad who recently lost his battle to cancer after a year, he supported Reading for 53 years and has the same birthday as Steve Coppell. Me,
@ChrisH1871
and Chris’ mum would weekly go to games together. Xx
A student made me aware of this during my lunch break. I cried for 5 minutes after they left. The reality is
@readingfc
will no longer exist, and it’s heartbreaking to see the
@EFL
are doing fuck all about it
#readingfc
Massive thank you to all the
#readingfc
and
#boltonwanderers
fans who tweeted and liked my post regarding my stepdad and the 59th minute applause.
@ReadingFC
have come back and said they should be able to display a picture of him on the 59th minute for an applause. Love you all.
A student from
@WrenSchool
came up to me during lunch duty and said “I’ll be clapping for your stepdad tomorrow” having seen the news on Twitter. Love this school and

fans
Just a cheeky reminder to my History, Politics and Citizenship students (which is displayed on my whiteboard) that “it’s Ovie’s world and we’re just living in it”.

To anyone teaching the Edexcel Migration History module next year, I highly recommend this book. Some excellent stories about the experiences the Windrush generation faced in Britain

So, I am officially a History teacher 😍
I cannot wait to teach interpretations of Margaret Thatcher with my cardboard cut out of her 😂😍. I got this as a secret Santa present 6 years ago, and now it’s coming in handy!

So as a school teacher I can mix with thousands of bubbles a day during a global pandemic, but I can’t drive off to spend one day at Christmas with my family. What an absolute joke.

Can we just appreciate what an amazing performance that was from

Highlight of my day, a member of SLT coming into my classroom tell me that they are excited for me being Subject Leader for History and Politics next year! I’m definitely at the right school!
Just had amazing, positive feedback from my NQT observation today, and I am the happiest Mr Collins I ever have been since having the special privilege of being a teacher!!

Just planned a scheme of work on the interpretations for the rise of fascism in Italy and communism in Russia for year 8 and then realised I don’t teach year 8. The flaw of being HoD for History, gutted I won’t teach it 😂

Thoroughly enjoying
@GoodwinMJ
book ‘Values, Voice and Virtue’ - I’ve already scanned pages for my students to read for when we look voting behaviour and the media for A level Politics.

Having read up on Jill Biden a former teacher and soon to be First Lady, I am so inspired by the following quote of hers: “teaching is not what I do, but who I am”. Absolutely love it.

Tom Ince when he realises daddy is no longer manager which means he can’t scream at his teammates for a slightly misplaced pass and isn’t described as readings best player by the manager after every game

Just been informed that
@UniofReading
has a James Furlong Award set up by
@mrwbw
for PGCE mentors- really touching award this, and its great to see that two of the
@WrenSchool
teachers had been nominated for it!

48/52 marks for Paper 3 were based on 1924-29…really disappointing from
@PearsonEdexcel
when students have been heavily revising the entirety of 1918-39

I was involved in a car accident on Tuesday just outside the school - returned to school today and it was so lovely to see so many students coming to my classroom just to check how I was and if I was okay - something I’ll remember forever

It’s absolutely amazing to see the solidarity across all teachers, lecturers and unions. We do not want the schools to close, we just want to ensure that pupils and staff feel safe, as what was promised on the 30th Dec by

As a Politics teacher, this is the message I want to send to anyone working in UK politics. Too much has happened these past few days already!!

So excited for my old politics lecturer from

to come to

tomorrow to speak to my A level students! Any Politics teachers that want me to share resources from it, please let me know

My politics lecturer from my degree university

Professor William Sheward is giving a talk to my A level politics class on Tuesday. I’m not sure who’s more excited, myself and the other politics teacher, or the A level students!

Who would have thought that my year 9 history teacher, Mr Mullins, going off in a tangent telling us that that Frank McCourt won a Pulitzer Prize in 1997, would prove to be so important - just won a History PGCE pub quiz. Thanks Mr Mullins.
Crazy first term over as an

Going through history books and realised how I got my year 9s to write down that History has been by those that are “male, pale and stale”. Thank you

Can’t wait for
@TimDellor
and Mick Gooding to say what a travesty this is, how much we will miss him and what a terrible manager Selles is…I’m glad Carroll is gone and am fully supportive of Selles
We can confirm that striker Andy Carroll has triggered a release clause in his contract to terminate his deal with the Royals with immediate effect.
We would like to thank Andy for his contribution to the club and wish him the very best of luck in his next challenge 🤝
Thank you William Sheward my old politics lecturer from

in speaking to my A level Politics students
@WrenSchool
really inspiring and cannot wait to catch up with the upcoming General Election!

My C in Drama GCSE was useful today. Me and a teacher staged an argument to get witness statements from the students today - 80% of them fell for it! Perfect way to start off my yr8 lesson on how historians create accounts for Charles I execution
