This will go into a "Republicans pounce" file among the legacy press but will damage the Democratic party brand in the same way Don Verrilli's infamous Obergefell argument did.
Tim Kaine is often held up as an example of a faithful believer and relative moderate among Ds. He did mission work in Honduras. So this is particularly disturbing. Especially if he, as surely must be the case, knows better but is posturing here.

Jerry Jones is now in the "Snyder Zone" for Cowboys fans. He's not nearly as bad of human being as Snyder, but we have no hope as long as he owns the team.
What seemed to set this trade in motion was Jerry Jones doing what they used to do in the old days: "hotbox" a player to get him to sign, without an agent. That was done often but decades ago. Not going to fly today; that was the beginning of the end.

The Johnson Amendment violates the First Amendment. The bipartisan non-enforcement pact is in part because the "violations" are bipartisan. I would strongly oppose my own church endorsing candidates. I'm not threatened by houses of worship that use their freedom differently.
It’s often a bad practice. Churches should tread carefully. But this is the correct Constitutional result. The Johnson Amendment as it was interpreted over the decades violates the 1st A.

Not a commentary on the electoral point but I wish we could retire the cheeky sounding term "sex pest" to describe the coercive lechery of the Andrew Cuomos of this world.
I don’t want the DSA guy to win the primary against the centrist sex pest but if it does happen, well, glass half full, we will get to see something new.

I don't know @DrJBhattacharya, but I have friends who speak very highly of him. This is a remarkable example of public Christianity. He seems like a man with a peaceful inner life.
In 2020, then director of the National Institutes of Health, Francis Collins, called him a “fringe epidemiologist” and pushed for a “devastating takedown.” . Today, @DrJBhattacharya is the new director of the NIH. And Collins has apologized.
