Aiyuk leveraged a hold-in last year for $48 million.
Brandon Aiyuk earned $24.1M in 2024 for 7 weeks of work, and is guaranteed $24M through 2025. The #49ers voided the $26.15M guarantee on his 2026 salary in order to facilitate his release, per @DMRussini & @MikeSilver. The deal contains $29.5M of bonus dead cap in 2026.

Never terminated? Was he supposed to just keep showing up, like George Costanza?
LSU made its first move in responding to Brian Kelly's lawsuit today by giving new school president Wade Rousse authority to send him "written notice of termination." LSU has argued it never formally fired Kelly, a key point in the suit. https://t.co/H3UWA5Gi6u

This is common knowledge among anyone associated with the NFL, that MetLife has the worst surface in the league. MetLife will host 8 World Cup games this summer, including the Final. Those will have grass installed as the surface. Grass for futbol, concrete turf for football.
Josh Jacobs hates MetLife Stadium and its hard surface that injured his knee last Sunday: “Definitely the worst. Always been the worst. I know if I ever play there again I will never talk about it because I talked about it all week, how bad it was, and it bit me in the ass.”

Buyouts go the other way. When the coach leaves voluntarily.
@AndrewBrandt Just curious. Where did "buyouts" come from? An agent or lawyer? Don't remember these being a thing 10 years ago 😞

Pet peeve revisited: James Franklin’s PSU contract did not have a buyout! It was simply remaining guaranteed years with offset language. PSU will continue to pay the remainder after offset ($9 million). Just like NFL coaching contracts. Not a buyout. Please..
