Yeah trauma & cardiac arrests are what we all want to do. But a day filled with referring/discussing people with specialty’s/other HCPs rather than just throwing them in the ambulance & going to ED because ā€˜its easier’ is just as rewarding. Pre hospital care is cool.

I hope the Damar Hamlin case becomes a requiem for moving cardiac arrest patients out of public view. The moment he collapsed he owned the entire stadium and that’s exactly how it should be. Restart the heart before you depart. It saves lives.ā¤ļø

Yes, paramedics feel they are more misused than an aubergine emoji. But can we pls stop blaming patients? If they can’t access services, if they haven’t been educated, if they haven’t been empowered to make healthier lifestyle decisions- can we blame them? We reap what we sow

After 25 years working for @Ldn_Ambulance - #Cycle #Paramedic John is retiring! A sad day for #TeamLAS - a fantastic colleague and paramedic. Thanks for all you have done for our patients and enjoy the rest! #TeamLAS #tuesdayvibe #London #Ambulance

Surrounded by colleagues who went above and beyond the last few weeks for patients. Despite the minimal negative aspects of work, it makes me love my job.

The bit I don’t understand is why no one telling the public that their expectations of the #NHS are simply too high. There needs to be an element of self care first for many. GP appointments are available, as are A&E services, but we cannot cater for the worried well.

1/THREAD Why would adenosine, a purine nucleoside, be able to treat supraventricular tachycardias (SVT)? And why are its effects so short lived (e.g. <2 seconds)? The answers will change the way you think about this drug. #tweetorial #medtwitter

If you're not a paramedic but you think you know what they do, PLEASE read this I think everyone in healthcare should read it, but ESPECIALLY emergency medicine and primary care clinicians 1/

Today is a tricky day. I have just submitted my application to be removed from the HCPC as a Paramedic. Over the weekend I undertook my last clinical shifts for the foreseeable future, and I wanted to vent somewhere. 9 years ago I excitedly went to the HCPC with some friends…
