Great opportunity to work with a fantastic scientist and mentor!.
I am looking for a technician to work in my lab in beautiful Sioux Falls. We have really exciting projects related to embryonic brain development and neurodegeneration. We use: mouse models, CRISPR, microscopy and omics analyses. Send me a DM or reply to the ad in 🧵. Please RT.

I am thrilled to share our new publication!! Using mice, organoids, live imaging and biochemistry, we show the RNA binding protein EIF4A3 directly binds and controls microtubules to promote axon growth. Thanks to super talented @alsina_fc and an outstanding team of collaborators!.
Happy to share our work about how neurons re-utilize gene expression regulators to directly control cytoskeletal dynamics. We found that the nucleating component of the Exon Junction Complex, EIF4A3, acts non-canonically as a microtubule-binding protein to regulate axonal growth.

Congrats Lola! Amazing opportunity to work with an excellent scientist!! Check it out.
I'm thrilled to announce that the Irala lab is now open at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital @StJudeResearch! We'll investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms of astrocyte-neuron communication and how synaptic balance is achieved and maintained during brain development
