This interesting paper by @NathalieJuYa also shows a similar phenotype in zebrafish, confirming a highly evolutionarily conserved role of the choroid plexus as the main contributor to CSF production

@PNASNews All Cre-dependent cell ablation studies using this allele should be carefully interpreted given these unexpected findings. Thank you to @June_Goto and Steve Crone of @CincyChildrens for a great collaboration, and believing us and validating the loss of ventricles in your labs😂.

@PNASNews The CSF loss was irreversible up to 20 months post-ablation, and ChP-ablated mice showed a marked reduction in SVZ doublecortin+ neuroblasts, both under normal conditions and after ischemic stroke. This model would be very useful to study ChP and CSF function in the adult brain

Excited to share our paper in @PNASNews To our surprise, the ROSA26iDTR line showed diphtheria toxin-induced choroid plexus ablation in the adult brain 😱, we show an unexpected role of the ChP in retaining the pool of neuroblasts in the adult SVZ

Finally out! Check out our new paper in Nature Communication 10.1038/s41467-024-49596-0. In this new study, we established that microglia make their own TGF-β1 ligand to maintain brain homeostasis and cognitive function via autocrine signaling mechanism at a single-cell level!
