There is a scene in The Last of Us game where Ellie finds Bill’s porno mag with a dude on the cover and notes some of the pages are stuck together and some people who played the game are STILL watching the TV show going, “Wait, he’s WHAT?!”
If you are arguing that this week’s The Last of Us “didn’t move the plot forward” or was (ugh) “filler,” please, I implore you, never watch any scripted TV series ever again.
Jenna Ortega is trending because her fanbase is upset to find out she's a smoker, which is honestly kind of adorable, but guys, so, so many actors -- including so many young ones worshipped on this here internet -- smoke. Like, a lot a lot.
Yes, I did see that Anya Taylor-Joy revealed she’s been secretly married for two years and that her wedding was in New Orleans and that it included eating anatomically correct heart cakes and that she referred to herself as Lestat and yes I think that’s great.
If you’ve been cool with this character’s existence in an Indiana Jones movie for 34 years, I find it funny you’d think what happens in Dial of Destiny crosses an unacceptable line.
With The Far Side trending, I must note how much I have laughed through the years at these examples Gary Larson put in The Prehistory of The Far Side of the newspaper that twice swapped The Far Side and Dennis the Menace captions. That second Dennis one is amazing.

BREAKING: HBO Max has rescued WEDNESDAY and already produced an entire new season. Also, HBO Max has cancelled WEDNESDAY themselves and never intends to show the season they produced.
"How does M. Night Shyamalan keep getting money?" is a frequent snarky question about a guy who A: Self-financed his recent movies and B: Keeps making profitable movies.
The Visit: Budget - $5m / Box Office - $98.5m

It was crazy when Titanic came out, kids. We didn't have "here's when you can pee" articles, so we just pissed all over ourselves in our theater seats. You don't know how good you have it.
Remember

Season 2? If they released episodes weekly, the finale would be this week. I think it would have been cool and only beneficial for your show and streaming service to have weekly reactions to great episodes of The Bear all summer but I'm not a studio bigwig!
Prediction: Next two MCU movies (Shang-Chi/Eternals) will perform modestly at an Ant-Man level. People will write about Marvel not doing as well. Then Spider-Man will be the first billion dollar movie since 2019 and next year’s slate (Strange, Thor, Panther, Marvels) will be huge
Today, Vought is proud to announce the Homelander High-Tops! Based on our greatest hero’s boots, these shoes will make you feel like you can fly. Available at a Super deal of $777, with all proceeds going to his legal defense fund. Get yours before his sham of a trial on June 13!
She-Hulk is in a tough spot as a TV comedy within the MCU, where people are looking for forward plot momentum in a way your average sitcom doesn't get. You never saw people say "filler!" about an episode of Parks and Rec or The Office where they took a trip somewhere, but here...
Dwayne Johnson regrets endorsing Joe Biden for president in 2020 because "what that caused was something that tears me up in my guts — which is division."
"It caused an incredible amount of division. I realize now going into this election, I will not do that. My goal is to bring…
The Batman is the first Warner Bros. film to be released theatrical only since Tenet in September 2020. All those HBO Max simultaneous releases are bookended by Pattinson movies.
I have a lot of issues with Book of Boba Fett for sure and think Andor rules but fear a lot of the “All Star Wars should just be like Andor” pushes we’re already seeing. No, the space adventure series meant for kids should not always be like Andor. Andor is a terrific variation.
Co-existence:
1. Andor is fantastic and a stellar example of taking a familiar franchise and approaching it in a different way.
2. If you want all Star Wars shows to have the weight and feel of Andor you don’t fundamentally want Star Wars to be Star Wars.
A: This photo rules.
B: 50 years later, isn’t it depressing how much internet bullshit we’d hear about “agendas” and “forced diversity” and “SJW” if a Latino Joker and black Catwoman were cast together in a new Batman series?
I love The Last Jedi. I love The Mandalorian. Everything doesn’t need to be such a freaking line in the (I hate) sand standoff. Especially when it’s all part of the same franchise.
I can’t articulate what a great time I had just now watching RRR in a theater. I know it’s on Netflix. I know hearing it’s three hours and subtitled is a hard sell for many. I can’t stress enough how fun it is and that I recommend you see it with others in a theater if you can.
Remember the time Guillermo del Toro made a movie where a mute woman falls in love with and fucks a mutant fishman who eats cats and it somehow won Best Picture at the Academy Awards and then people were like, "Ugh, typical, they went for the obvious Oscar-bait movie"?
This time it’s for real, with a press release and everything:
Disney is releasing Loki Season 1 (9/26), WandaVision (11/28), and The Mandalorian Season 1 & 2 (both 12/12) on 4K and Blu-ray in Steelbook packaging.
Hurray, physical media!
In 1982, the great Amy Heckerling directed one of the best high school movies ever with Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Then 13 years later... she freaking did it again! Happy 25th anniversary today to the oh-so wonderful Clueless. You’re the best.
It's like David Zaslav saw the bad press Bob Chapek got this year and saw the bad press Netflix got this year and was like "Amateurs. I'll show them bad press."

If there's a high school intern who can write a paragraph like that second one, please let me know who they are so I can offer them paid work.
Yeah,
#TheFlash
is legit great! It delivers some notably thrilling, fun and creative moments I felt I hadn’t seen in a million other superhero movies. It had me smiling from the Warner Bros. logo at the top and I even dug stuff inspired by movies I wasn’t into.
Help. Guy at screening is complaining that Raiders of the Lost Ark isn’t that good, actually, because — hope you’re sitting down for this — he posits that everything would have happened the same whether Indiana Jones was there or not.
If you’re a guy who has previously said Kathleen Kennedy is “ruining Star Wars” and you love The Mandalorian, I’m sure you’re now praising her, right? And not saying she deserves little to no credit for the show. Because that would just be silly.

We cannot express the joy and gratitude of hosting the great S.S. Rajamouli at his first US festival. In addition to uber-rare IMAX

& ultramarathon, we’re also screening MAGADHEERA (10.21) & MARYADA RAMANNA (10.23) at Aero.
Full slate 9.14. Glory to the People’s Republic
I like that Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans will be doing Little Shop of Horrors together. The bonds forged by The Perfect Score can never be broken.
Second viewing cemented how much I dug The Flash. It's so well done. Feels like this summer is gonna be a pretty spectacular one for comic book movies going by Guardians 2, Flash, and (haven't seen, but...) Spider-Verse 2. Fingers crossed for Blue Beetle.

Man, there are a lot of implications to changing Sonic at this point. The movie opens in November - no doubt the merch is already well underway. This is the title character! How much will they need to change?
Trump if you kneel during the national anthem: “Get that son of a bitch off the field right now!”
Trump if you violently break into the US Capitol: “We love you. You’re very special.”
A lot of "Who asked for this?" dudes up until now are gonna feel complicated over a show that looks like exactly the dark, gritty, violent Netflix-type Marvel content they've asked for.
No bad deed goes unpunished.

Set your Disney+ profile to TV-MA to stream.
All episodes will be available on Hulu until April 9.
Disney+ has announced that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is their most-watched premiere ever and I presume HBO Max will soon announce Zack Snyder’s Justice League was their most-watched premiere ever and neither will provide any concrete viewership numbers so, you know, okay!
Remember, if you said "Star Wars is dead" or "The Last Jedi killed Star Wars," then you aren't supposed to be watching any of this new material or caring about it at all. I mean you said it's dead to you and you totally meant it, right?
For those mad, not sad, that

is ending with Season 7, personally, I think NO serialized show should go longer than 7 seasons simply because they inevitably lose steam by that point. How many times have you said "Season 8 is my favorite!" of any show that went that long?
It is funny that while Dune (a success) and Matrix Resurrections (struggling) got all the online buzz, attention, and discussion, Godzilla vs. Kong was Warner Bros’ biggest worldwide box office hit of 2021. Another example of the difference between social media and real life.
Can't wait for when the MCU begins making X-Men movies and all the themes of prejudice and fighting for tolerance and equality will be attacked as "Woke."
The internet has a weird relationship with Waititi and his work, and no one clicks on links, so while I see people already responding in the replies in a way that clearly lacks context, here's his full quote.
Lin-Manuel Miranda is tweeting to NBC to pick up One Day at a Time, so yes, we’ve reached the “Broadcast network, please save this beloved show that Netflix cancelled” stage of the story of TV.
Holy shit. Even with Zaslav being so Zaslav, this one floors me. Even though its numbers dropped, Westworld was a big deal show for HBO. This seems to underline that we shouldn't assume anything will stay on HBO Max going forward.

The Harry Potter series is fantastic and I’ll love it forever, which explains my tattoo from it. JK Rowling has an amazing imagination...

Given there isn't a single person in the second photo who were writers on Rise, and a couple of people in the first photo weren’t writers on Empire, I’m pretty sure this person doesn’t know what a writer actually is. But they sure know how to hate women.
