Oh, and to that point, because so many animals in this LOOK like other animals today, my parent will often just still with their first assumption. Like thinking Homotherium is a Snow Leopard, or getting confused as to why Thylacoleo is called a lion.

Honestly it’s strange since so much attention is given to accuracy in every other regard, why stop short at the name? When I watch with my family, the often ask “what is that” and sometimes I go “well let’s see what they say”… and then they don’t.
What are your thoughts on the reason why Prehistoric Planet Ice Age avoided the scientific names of the animals? Annoying? Or understandable?

I don’t want to move on too soon, but I think those who’ve finished the season are wondering, what’s next? Permian fans have made their wishes known, but after seeing Giganto, I really think the story of man’s evolution might be the next venture.

Given that Framestore worked on both, there’s a non zero chance the squirrel from Prehistoric Planet Ice Age episode 2 reuses the squirrel model from Superman, at least as a base.
